With the above in mind, single elimination helps us this year due to our pitching depth, but overall, I don’t like it. The six teams already as top seeds don’t have much of an incentive to put up there best dudes.

If the above prediction holds, I’m not looking forward to playing UK again in Regionals.

It’s much less interesting to make the commitment (travel, hotel, tickets) to go when it could only be for one game. They should drop the bottom 4 teams, and keep format as it was previously. Postseason baseball is a tournament sport; this change makes it seem like an exhibition game.

PS. Will probably be my last time going unless they change the format, but I’m probably in the minority.

That’s something I hadn’t even considered. I hope they change it back.

One and done is not a suitable format for baseball to determine the best. The entire post season in baseball isn’t the greatest formula to do that, but one and done is weird.

Thanks but this is only my 4th year going to Hoover. Should have been 5 but a bad virus got me one year. I found a great cigar lounge and grabbed a few My Father and Perdomo 20th Anniversary. Good times!

Sitting outside the hotel in Hoover enjoying a fine Cohiba this morning, a man & his son (Texas fans) drove up and began unloading luggage. I smiled & said, "Great day for baseball!" Father replied. "We lost yesterday but came anyhow ". I just smiled, thinking: "Yeah..y'all just :cool: drove up for that trophy 🏆
Oops!"
