You live in Nashville and going to a game in Knoxville is on your "bucket list"?

Thirty bucks' worth of gas, thirty bucks for a ticket outside the stadium, and one Saturday worth of your time. If you can afford to pay your internet bill, you can afford to go to a UT game.

And yes, if you go to a good game, it is as awesome as you'd think it is.

Today, the best part was seeing the over the top, cocky dawg fans get quiet and then start streaming out like red and black fire ants headed for a slice of watermelon.

you definitely need to go! since it's your first game, make sure you're in your seat to see them run through the T... nothing like it... when we used to be able to have john ward on the radio in our ear, it was even better!!!!

yes, it's loud-my ears are still ringing after gettting home. Fans around stood and hollered much of game which has not happened in a while. There is nothing like running though the T - the stadium feels like it's shaking and I get chills every time I'm there. The band did the circle drill today which is always great. The band played Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer which the students sang. Hope they keep this up. Always try to go to Vol Walk and see Band march down the hill before the game. It is definitely worth the trip to see first hand.

Ah, well, I didn't know you were a full-on homebound indigent. My apologies. Maybe one of the seniors' homes in Nashville will run a bus over to Knoxville sometime.

Anyway, it's definitely worth it if you can get there.

Hey Fella, if your for real about your situation, then I will buy you 2 tickets.(Don't know how good the seats willl be) One for you and your chosen driver. It will have to be next year, as I'm already committed for this season. Just look up my e-mail and we'll work it out.
If you show up in normal condition and not on "disability" you will certainly qualify before you leave. :birgits_giggle:

Way louder, the first time i went i was a senior in high school, and i was in awe it was like a dream come true, just the perfect grass the scoreboard and everything, and yeah the new scoreboard this year is legit. Vol Walk is amazing to go to. I just love tailgating UT fans you have never met before while you are at the game and walking to the game, as long as you are wearing orange, will do just about anything for you. i just love seeing the sea of orange walking to the stadium and talking trash to the opposing fans.

One of the funniest things i remember happening was I went to the Alabama game last year, and yea it sucked cuz we got stomped, but there were these two oooollllllddd men sitting next to us and really obnoxious alabama fans in front of us so by the fourth quarter one of the old guys sitting next to us had gummy worms and we were both throwing them at the bammer fans whenever they stood up and actually got one in his coke. the old guy also had a sticker with the alabama logo, but it had one of those "no" symbols ya know the circle with the slash and he stuck it on a bama fans back and he walked out with it, those were the two coolest old guys i've ever met in my life.

A game on the Hill is one of those things everyone should do at least once. TV just can not do it justice.

TV could never show you how awesome being there really is. I love taking people there with me for the first time. They are blown away!

really...?

Oh, come on. Isn't the stuff on just about everybody's so-called bucket list stuff that either costs an enormous amount of money, takes an enormous amount of time, and/or takes place on the other side of the world? He lives in Nashville. Scoring a thirty dollar ticket to a football game 180 miles away isn't some unattainable dream unless you're an bankrupt quadriplegic dialysis patient or something.

I mean, I'm unemployed, and yet my wife and I spent more money tonight on beer and whiskey than it would cost somebody in Nashville to drive over to a UT game in Knoxville one Saturday and buy a ticket. This should be an achievable goal for the guy.
