They don't get paid to play at another conference school. Home team keeps all the money from conference games. Same with home-and-home out of conference. Only time a team gets paid to play is when it's a single game or neutral site. The visiting team gets paid by the home team--like Akron, Georgia St., and Troy--or both teams get paid like UT-NCSt.
