Question to those in the "Fire Debord" camp?

When you run on 1st down EVERY time NOBODY can be successful. UT has shown it is not very successful yet they keep doing it like clock work. People I watch the game with are calling out the plays before they happen most of the time.

They run on first down 80% of the time

Hurd right. Hurd left. Pass overthrown on 3rd. Punt... seen this too much. , it doesn't work.

Debord lines up Hurd in a way that Hurd must fight for every yard he gets and risk injury or get no yards at all.

He never gives Hurd a few steps to pick up speed which a tall back needs.

Hurd has to now decide whether he wants to play for a coach that is getting him killed or take it easy and not give all out effort.

I think it says a lot that he still takes one for the team knowing his OC is an idiot.

Debord and jones scheme is not made for the sec....period. And yes I know we out up yada yada yards. UM or Saban have this team undefeated.

Just curious, let's say Coach Jones does fire DeBord at the end of the season. Who exactly could he go out and hire as OC that would run the same style offense and do it any better? I'm not saying I'm for or against getting rid of DeBord. I'd just like to know who we could get that would vastly improve the offense, yet at the same time run the same style of offense (because you know completely overhauling the offense is not an option under CBJ).

Our style of offense isn't uncommon anymore so it wouldn't be hard to find a good coach who knows this style...The offense could be a little more exciting however and not so conservative most of the time so getting a young coach who likes to add his own twist to things might be a good thing.

Agree on Hurd. He has done more with less than any RB I can recall at UT.

I am curious as to where that wrinkle with Hurd coming out of an offset I formation behind Dobbs that we saw against Northwestern has been all season.

This staff gets in its own way with how smart they think they are sometimes IMO.

Tony franklins offense just beat an sec team that has far better athletes. I know Missouri is down but MTSU isn't exactly stacked with talent.

Just saying

I'll say the same thing that I said when we hired DeBord. I would call up Rhett Lashlee and ask him if he is interested in getting out from Malzahn's shadow.

He may not be and he's probably very loyal to Malzahn but at some point maybe he would like to spread his wings and fly on his own....but now that Gus has turned play-calling over to him probably not going to happen.

Funny how this offense hasn't changed since last year except for the fact the OL isn't blocking.

This falls on coaching decisions with putting the right personal into position. Injuries have plagued us this year but I'm sticking to my original point about our S&C coach and program.

We didn't get beat this many times last year, and the line opened nice holes for hurd. The kicker is the OL was more sound and produced results. Guess we lost the beating a dead horse emoticon, so I'll say this for the umpteenth time, HIRE A PROVEN S&C Coach. We are being pushed around by smaller guys and that screams we aren't physically strong where we need to be.

Trust me, The time I spent lifting in college was insane and it's a wonder I ever had anytime to study, and the S&C coach made sure we did EVERY REP. The only notable difference from this year to last year is the absence of a proven conditioning coach.

This is going to fall on so many deaf ears but watch our line get MANHANDLED by players that give up weight and height. It's called conditioning.

The fan base wanted the last S&C coach gone because we had weight room injuries, but one thing was certain, we didn't get pushed around last year.

I'm done with this subject and sorry I wasted your time!

Just for you.. :horse:
