Question regarding recruiting?

If we wait till around December or January to announce our new head coach...
1. Does this give our new HC enough time to realistically impress our already commited players..

2. Will he have enough time to land some new big name recruits?

3. Would he have time to bring the recruiting class to sahy possibly a top 10 class?

Whatcha think?

Look at Saban's '07 class, he came in sometime in January and he brought in some good players. Also our class is already in the top 10 so i see no reason why it wouldn't finish there.

The thing is Saban's ordeal was dragged through the media like crazy and caught all the attention of high school kids around the country.. I honestly think that helped..

That's not what I meant.. Saban was lucky...

My question is just recruiting

If we get Butch Davis, I think we keep everyone we have, plus maybe steal a couple of the bigtime recruits he has for UNC. We could also easily get in on some other kids that we didn't have a shot at.

I could care less if we aren't top 10 this year. We need a coach and staff that can develop the players we do have. Fulmer has done less with more than any coach in the country.

I think any coach that has some name recognition can easily bring in a good class. Dont forget that last year we were ranked 35th, so it cant be much worse than that.
