Used to be that most of the other school allotment was sections A and AA (and nearby). Is that still the case?

Some of it is there, most of it is in the upper deck. The opposing fans in section A are the band and the player guests, which the SEC requires be given lower level tickets near the team bench.

Thanks DP, my nephew is looking at getting seats for the UF game but wants to avoid the Jorts Section

I've sat all over Neyland. Both lower and upper decks. I've had better experiences in the upper deck.

One other thing, don't avoid the opposing teams fans. I've been to this game both in Neyland and Gainesville. The gator fans that travel have a lot more class than the ones in the swamp. I've had zero issues with gator fans in Neyland.

They would HAVE to. The people in Gainesville have below 0 class! They are sub human!
And to avoid them in Neyland Stadium, don't sit in A, AA, The last few numbered sections of X or rows 18 & above in sections GG-PP. 2 years ago they didn't bring too many fans & probably won't again this year...so JJ-PP should be fine

Last time I was in gainsville they couldn't even fill up their own stadium. I'm with you, not too many will be in Knoxville this year, but then again when it comes to Gators, two is too many.

Jump higher Vols.

What about section bb? I've been to a few games before but always lower level. My wife and I have tickets to the app state game this year for opening weekend and we have seats in bb row 8 I believe

How in the world could an App State fan be a bother? They will simply be happy to se Neyland and the massive crowd.

Those are great seats.

Only problems comes if it's a day game...you'll be facing directly at the sun.

I wasn't referring to the app state fans I just wanted to know about the seats if they were good as I have never sat in the upper deck

IMO,
All the SEC fan bases can be obnoxious at home and away (yes that includes UT). It's best to avoid sitting near the opposing team's fans if at all possible.

I've been to 12 games in Gainesville to see Tennessee play. Never had a single incident with Gator fans in 12 trips. Been invited to several Gator tailgates
