Ok this can be a controversial subject but I have been wanting to ask for a long time.

For Christmas I got my son a Wii. Hooked it up and popped in a few games to give it a try and it was quite a bit of fun. I have heard some serious hating going on against the Wii but it is a fun little system so it got my thinking about the other system. I will admit I am a PS3 fanboy. I love my shiny black sports car of a gaming system. And for all the hate I have towards all things Xbox I decided to give it a try and see if my assumptions were misguided and that maybe I am missing out on some fun times gaming because of some misinformed bias.

While at my in-laws for christmas my brother-in-law has a Xbox so i decided to give it a try and see. We started off with Madden. While a little funky at first the controler was easy to get used to so no complaints there. After game or two curiosity got the best of my and I tried out GOW2. while a fun little game it was not some groundbreaking revalation like I was expecting. Now the chainsaw was kick ass. I really dug me some chainsaw melee but is that really the whole draw? After 20-30 min of single player to get used to the controls I hopped onto multiplayer and was again not impressed. While a good solid game it was not a system seller per say. Next game on my to try list was Halo 3. I was really hopeing this would be the one to catch my attention because I have read a few of the halo novels during bored times and it really seemed like something i could get into. Once again I was dissapointed because the experiance was about as vanilla as possible.

I have spent close to 400 hours on warhawk and I am nearing in on 50 hours of Resistance 2 and IMO both of those games had more of a attraction than either of the major 360 shooters.

Now my question to you is what makes the 360 your system of choice. I really want to hear from the guys who have both systems and still choose the 360 and the guys who have had many RROD experiances yet keep mailing there system in.

I own both.... If you are looking for great online play with others then the 360 is 100% better. (Knock on wood) I've only got the RROD once and it was a first release system that lasted almost two years. If you get on got elite so that you can install more games to the hard-drive. It will make your system run quieter and will save the life of the disc drive. Also I think you can use an external HD to install games?!?

Anyway IMO the 360 beats the PS3 in online gaming, marketplace content, dashboard, and a huge positive for me is the integration with windows media center. The only reason I got a PS3 was:

1. It was the cheapest blu-player at the time
2. MLB: The Show (the best baseball sim)
3. LittleBigPlanet
4. And one day I may buy MGS (however I hated the demo....)

I personally hate the online navigation on the PS3 marketplace. I was a huge PS Fanboy before the 360 came out. The funny thing about it was my brother-in-law was the one that converter me to the 360. Once I played it and used the controller I was sold! Now when I play games on my PS3 the controller feels cheaply constructed (lightweight like it was constructed for 5 yr olds) and it could break at any time. However I've never had a problem with it. I may turn my PS3 on 1 or 2 times a month, and it's mainly to watch movies. As for the 360 I turn on 25-30 days per month.

Also I'm to lazy this morning to proofread or spell check so I'm heading to the coffee pot.... :zeitung_lesen:

Anyway IMO the 360 beats the PS3 in online gaming,
I have both systems and Imo the 360
beats the ps3 online hand's down.
I have always been a long time ps guy 'specially playing nascar online after playing nascar 09 on both systems it was like night and day. the ps3 server had way to much lag' 360 was flawless online.
so with all said.......... for online play xbox rules.
for reliability i go with the ps3 because i just got the 3RROD on a 15 month old system.

If you want RPG games-PS3
If you want more variety of games-360
If you want better online play-360
If you want a bluray player-PS3

Pretty much sums it up

(Knock on wood)

Well I got an E74 error code last light with one flashing light. I didn't knock hard enough.....

"E74: AV cable error... There is a problem with the AV cable, try using a different AV cable. If the cable is known to be working then there is a 90% chance it's a scaler chip problem (the "ANA" or "HANA" chip connected directly to the AV cable) in rare cases it is the GPU."

i was a ps/ps2 guy for years but got a 360 because of the limited number of exclusive titles on the ps3 and the online capabilites of the 360. so far i have no regrets. i have nothing against the ps3 and don't really understand close-minded sony/microsoft fanboys who do nothing but complain about the other system. both have good features, it just so happens that i thought the 360 had alot more going for it. i got mine last christmas and it's been a great system. i've yet to have the RRoD too.

as far as the games you played goes, gears 2 gets some used to online. the first day i played the multiplayer on it i was really dissapointed, but eventually warmed up to it. the first gears is alot smoother gameplay wise. i'd suggest playing it to see if you have a change of heart. also, halo 3 is a fun game but really overrated. i have a good time on it and play it from time to time, but don't play it religiously like some people do.
