Did I just make this up or do I remember correctly that the overall #1 seed(Kansas) is supposed to play the winner of the play-in game? Kansas got the shaft here and Duke is pretty scot-free if this is the case
It goes by location. The game is in Dayton so they try to make it easier on the winner to travel less. The play-in-game winner always plays on Friday to allow them to have rest.
