My neighbors, who are HUGE UGA fans, were arguing about who has the better fightsong(offseason bordom). They kept insisting that thiers is equall to Rocky Top, Notre dames, USC's, ect. Is it me or does Georgia's fightsong sound like that childs song "Ive been working on the railroad." Come on!!!!!!!!!!

Tell them that anyone that shares a fight song with one of their biggest rivals (Auburn) doesn't have a great fight song. That would be like us having the same fight song as UF or Bama.

The Bulldogs' fight song came from the Union Army, their band is named the Redcoats, and they stole their logo from the Green Bay Packers. Oh, and they have the same mascot as at least three other I-A teams. Pretty weak if you ask me.

UGA sucks all the way around. When UGA was picked as the nest mascot a few years ago I wasn't quite sure how that worked since there are at least ten other schools who use a bulldog as a mascot.

I made a mix CD of the best 40 or so fight songs, and I put every SEC team on there, but UGA's is definitely subpar. It's a great song, but they need something more unique.

Watch it Dan. Those are fightin' words down here. :)

Well since I had relatives on both sides of the Battle of Atlanta, I can both laugh and be pissed at that statement. The ironic part is that not only did I have family on both sides, ALL of them were southerners.

That would be The Eyes of Texas Are Upon You which Univ. of Texas uses as a fight song.

their song is more of a hummm and no words..half of those s.o.b.'s do not know the words to it...it does sound like "ive been working on a railroad"

Trust me. 99% of the fans know the fight song. There's just not much complicated about:

Glory glory to ole Georgia.
Glory glory to ole Georgia.
Glory glory to ole Georgia.
G-E-O-R-G-I-A

They still have to hand out the words at sporting events. It's on the application as the only requirement for admission as well.

Yes, Dawg fans have taken what was once a historical war tune and turned it into moronic dribble.
