Do the threads on a common subject have to be merged when the resulting post count would be in the several hunderds? When a thread is that large, it is too cumbersome to navigate and follow conversations. Just wondering.

you're right, we need 83 Lane Kiffin threads on the main page to make navigation easier

I really don't know what alternative there is... VN is now a hugely popular site with a soaring post count, we need some order.

Our mods do a great job striking a balance I think. Often when a common threadline pops up and generates good discussion, the mods will let it run until it dies down, then merge it. That seems pretty fair to me...

I understand what you are saying. It's kind of a double edged sword and it's sometimes hard to strike a balance.

I appreciate the work by the mods on this board. So, please don't take this as a gripe but maybe, if a topic is popular, then limit to no more than two or three threads instead of piling them into one. My suggestion is that if a thread reaches a certain point (maybe 150) then let it grow on its own instead merging with another thread. If it reaches that number then it maybe a good topic and allow more threads. If below that (or any other number) and multiple threads develop on the same topic then pile those suckers into one (at the mod's discretion) to make space on the board.

Just one opinion.

Again, I enjoy this board and appreciate the work by the mods.

The Mod's have done a great job so far, the only issue i have is, I see about 4 QB threads on the first page....I believe all of these should be merged. :)
