My daughter and I are driving to Knoxville for the game Saturday.

We are on the fence on whether to leave 2-3 hours earlier to be part of the crowd at the Gameday broadcast.

For those that have attended a previous Gameday broadcast in Knoxville, how is the experience? A must-attend event, or just an OK event?

How much earlier than 9am would we need to arrive to be in the midst of the pit?

It was really cool. I don't know if its a must, but if your into Game day (I watched it most of my life) then it was special to be there in Knoxville. It was the "duck pull trucks" game and there were lots of cool signs and props. But I didn't stay there the whole time to be honest, only about an hour.
They are only going to come to Knoxville a few times in our lifetimes. They only go to like 13 locations a year. If you can, go to Gameday.
