First off I would like to know if Ainge would be 10 times better if he had recievers like we had on the 98 team? I reallyt think that Ainge would be top of the league this year if he just had the depth at WR.

Second, do you think that after this year Ainge will be drafted into the NFL?
As always........Go Vols!

He can't come back as a 5th year senior, he's used his 4 years of eligibility after this year

yes he'd be way better if he had better recievers, that's like asking would jordan's stats would be as good if he played with 4 white guys who were under 6ft.

Of course he would be better, but he would still make decisions to throw it short. For some reason, probably his pinky, he has been doing that a lot. But bigger, more experienced receivers would break tackles and get more yards after the catch.

ETA: I predict high in the 1st round draft.

I predict a late second round to early third round pick. I think most NFL teams will not feel to well about the injury problems Erik is having and I don't think I've seen him throw a good deep ball his whole career. I think it may mostly depend on how he performs at combines and physical assessments. However, being a 6-6, 220lb, immobile, cerebral, Cutcliffe coached QB may have owners thinking he is the next Peyton.

I think I remember some bombs against UGA, UF and LSU last year. He can air out the ball, and he can also throw a frozen rope.

The problem is that the draft is going to be pretty deep in QBs. Brohm, Henne, Woodson, Ainge, Colt Brennan, Matt Ryan, Booty, Keller etc.

Right now I'd say that Brohm, Brennan, Booty and Ryan are ahead of him but there's a long way to go.

Ok. Well it's obvious that a quarterback would appear better if he had incredible receivers; but having the '98 receivers back would make me look great. It was a stacked team and teams like that do well. As for the 5th year senior question, I guess you just didn't think before you asked.

In all probability Woodson will go before Ainge as well.

The 5th year senior thing for Ainge was stupid. But I won't bash you over it.

Yes, I'll take Peerless over any WR on UT's roster right now.

i think one only need to look at last season to know that if he had better receivers overall that would help him. had meachem come back for his sr year, we would have a legit threat at the WR position, and that would be benefical right now.

You have missed a lot of games then.

I would replace Booty with Woodson and I'm thinking Ainge and Ryan might come down to who has the stronger arm and performs better in individual workouts leading up to the draft.

I'm not a Seahawks fan but I'd like for Ainge to go to a team like that with an older qb so he can sit for a year or two and not have to play right away. Kind of like Rivers with SD.

Good thing though is that plenty of teams need qb's- Dolphins, Jags, Chiefs, Bears, Vikings maybe, Bills maybe, Falcons, and Panthers maybe.

No long balls against LSU...those were Cromptons.

He may have thrown a good one in the Florida game, but the only long ball I remember from that game was from Lucas Taylor to Coker.
