Question about cuss words

Why are certain words "bad" while others are not?

I can say crap all day and nobody thinks about it but if I use sh*t it offends some people.

So when did the traditional cuss words become words one "shouldn't" say?

I have always wondered this but never really got an answer.

wow,, morbid but cant help but laugh


well the F word came from mid evil time when nobles were allowed to cheat on their spouses in special rooms in the castle, "Forinicate Under Consent of the King"

and who was the first to say them? who deemed them bad? does Lane kiffin cuss?

Interesting. I've heard the S word comes from Ship High In Transit.

I just don't get when these specific words became unacceptable.

I'm a Christian but I've asked my brother, who is super conservative and will never cuss, he never gives a straight answer.

He gets mad a says crap or dang all the time but it is the exact same meaning/intention as the four letter counterpart.

yah, i guess the four letter counterparts are just too much fun to say...

I think that is an urban legend like "For unlawful carnal knowledge"
