Ainge is smarter, but physically there's not much difference. The only difference is Clausen beat Florida two times in a row at Gainesville.
Manning never beat FL. Ainge is between Clausen and Manning in my opinion. I still think our offense is fine. We can't stop anyone on DEFENSE and our special teams are aweful...why are we all focusing on Ainge? Our problem is not Erik Ainge. Two years ago yes, this year, no.
No, the problem is not Ainge, but are running game isn't capible at this point. I'd put Ainge behind Casey Clausen, at this point. We will see though, that could change, but with a big part of the measuring stick being wins, its not looking good.
You can't win without defense. Casey has some great defenses. One of his wins against FL we only gave up 10 points. In the other one, Travis Stephens almost won the Heisman. Ainge has no running game and no defense. Makes it tough to win.
We have never has ST. Win you lose two of the three aspects of the game then winning becomes difficult.

Clausen did have the benefit of better defenses as a whole, but that 2005 defense was great and we finished with a losing record. They kept us in many games that season, and were on the field most of the games.
Travis Stephens, I don't think, was even invited to NY.
I do agree that its really not fair to pen the FL or Cal loss on Ainge, but like it or not, wins for a QB is a big part of the measuring stick.
