I want QD to be awesome and hoping for the best. But i admit i really want to see what JG can do.

If D throws bad pick or someother bad play what is butchs track record w qbs. Obviously we know how long and bad it got to see dobbs but this is totally different.

What do you guys think? Will butch immeadiately go to JG? If 2 really bad mistakes?

I suspect we will see both QBs play. I think Butch will be trying to walk a tightrope to try & keep JG from transferring.

JG would have nothing to gain from tranferring. He still would have to sit next season meaning he wouldn't be eligible until QD graduated anyway.

I dont think both QBs play tonight. QD is the guy.

QD should be starter and unless he is awful, he will be the main man.

JG will have about 10-12 plays ready to run that suit his skill set. If we can manage to put the game away then JG might get to play 20 minutes or more.

Option #1. QD does great and leads 2 td drives in the first quarter. Butch throws JG in there for a series to mix up looks in the 2nd quarter just for kicks.

Option #2. QD does ok. No major mistakes, but no td drives either. Butch throws JG in during the second quarter to show a different look to possibly provide a spark.

Option #3. QD seems out of sync with the receivers and throws an interception. Butch throws JG in during the 2nd quarter, and at this point we've got a true qb competition. Whichever qb does best from this point forward will be our qb.

Bottom line, I think both will play during the first half tonight. Hopefully it's option #1 and not #3.

Gameplan:

1. Throw Ball to WR's to collect touchdowns
2.
3. Profit.

JG should only play if QD gives up the ball and GT takes double digit lead. If no turnovers, then QD should play all game.

Why SHOULD he be the starter when its been a close competition?

What is JG's skill set? If he can only run 10-12 plays to fit his "skillset" that means QD will only run 10-12 plays. They pretty much the same abilities. JG is just a tad faster with a stronger arm and QD has been a little more consistent. Idk why some of you are acting like its a pocket passer vs a scrambler or a 5th year sr vs a true freshman.

Why should he play the whole game by himself when he has done nothing to separate himself or establish himself as the clear starter? Because he sat the bench one more year?

Just heard Ainge on the radio say Scott was going back to trap blocking and not the zone blocking for the OL and that they would be exploding off the line.

Here's my take I haven't heard discussed. I love Dobbs but we all know he had accuracy problems. He's been here the last four years. I think with a QB that can hit our receivers this year we're going to see just how explosive Butch's offense is. Defenses can't stack 8 in the box all 3 downs like before.

A "tad" faster? Seriously? Because JG is real deal Dual threat bro.

I think Dormady could play ok and we still see JG. If Dormady is simply managing the game and not actually doing anything (not bad either) we see JG to see if he can make some big plays. If Dormady is playing well you want pull him at all, but if hes not doing anything (give him more than 3 series if hes not making bad plays tho) let JG try.

Unless it starts out Peterman vs Florida bad then QD needs at least 3 or 4 series before switching. Good or bad.

They say QD is pretty athletic also but JG is faster. I don't think anyone knows how much faster until we see them play. That is why I said a tad faster. I think they are both passing qbs that have the ability to scramble.

After watching the Va Tech v WVa game last night, I think it is entirely possible that QD could be as effective as Josh Jackson was for VaTech.

We both run a similar offense and Jackson isn't a Josh Dobbs QB/Athlete but takes what he is given.

I would take that kind of performance from QD in his first game and be estatic!

What do you think?

I think I saw JG is 4.57 and Dormady is 4.72. Not a huge drop off if correct.

I think Dobbs and Dormady ran the same 40 time

Dormady is not anywhere near as slow as Peyton is/was. Not even close.

Not knocking you for this common mistake but we are 3 hours 15 minutes from kick off and some are still spelling his name Dormandy.

It's not just about how fast you can run. You gotta factor in pocket presence. You can be Usain Bolt but if your pocket presence is lacking then you'll be knocked down more often than not. During the spring game I don't think Dormady was ever touched but I think Guarantano got touched twice if I remember right.

I dont have numbers other than from my rear end but just looking at the two its like 4.4-4.6. Vs 4.7-4.8. And thats a lot. QD moves more like PM ---> JG like Tee
