I am not a gamer, but my kids are. The only Guitar Hero we could find was for PS2, but the kids also have an x-box 360. The one for x-box is ten bucks more but apparently has a wireless 'guitar.'
We decided that the kids should not open and play it until we figure out for sure which is the better option. Would it be best to wait and exchange it for the x-box or does it matter?
note: If it makes a difference, the PS2 is hooked up to the 32" tv in their bedroom and the x-box is hooked up to our 52" widescreen...

Thanks for any advice you can give

you could buy either but your not sure which one to buy? if that is the case then the wireless guitar is pretty neat....I would go for that one. OTOH, they will be playing the same songs over and over so you may want to buy the ps2 version so you can lock them in their bedroom with it :)

We actually did buy the PS2 version. That's a pretty good idea about locking them in their room with it. :birgits_giggle: Especially if that game has those insufferable Dragonforce tunes that my oldest thinks passes for great rock...

I'd consider the 360 version based simply on the fact that it has downloadable content. If you have Live, then it's 360 hands down, that way their experience is more expansive.

We do have Live. If it makes that much of a difference, we will exchange the one we have for the x-box version.
Thanks! :hi:

Before I did that, I'd go on Live Marketplace and look at all the downloads for GH3 and see if that is gonna make me happy, then make your decision. Don't make your decision BEFORE you look at the content since you can look now.

Yeah, I'm curious also what kind of additional things you can do with Live.

Trade it in for Rockband. More instruments, songs, and fun.

I spent the past hour looking at their website. It looks pretty neat. I'll let the kids look at it and see if they would rather have that. As it is, I will either get the x-box version of GH, or RB, depending on if they would rather have that. Thanks for the input :hi:

Only drawback is the price. $170 is a lot of money for a video game. However, if they like Guitar Hero, they will probably play this game for quite some time.
