Q&A with Eric Berry

Question: What has the team's response been to Coach Kiffin ruffling some feathers in the SEC?

Berry: It's great to have a coach with so much confidence in us. Our team has been working harder than ever because he's making us feel we can compete with anyone. He has raised the bar on and off the field.

At least the team is not getting caught up in the negativity of the situation. Turning a negative into a positive, another reason why Berry is one of the best to ever play the game.

I wish he would have asked him what the percent chance of him coming back for his senior season was! That would be HUUUGGGEEE!!!

Even though I know he is a lock to be a top 10 pick next year, I think if this staff wins him over and shows a step towards championship football he may consider coming back for his Sr. Yr.

I agree. If we look to be on the verge of a possible SECC and NC in 2010 then I think EB stays. He is dedicated to being a dentist and loves school. He also isn't in a position where he feels pressured to rush to make money. I doubt he's very much motivated by individual records but if he comes back he'll have a chance to cement himself as possibly the greatest DB ever in college football.

In downtimes it's a player like Eric Berry that makes me proud of being a Vols fan. I mean instead of opting for the LSU/FSU/Oklahoma guarantees about beating Florida and lame verbal shots taken at Tebow, Berry is the kind of guy not to say a thing and knock teeth out on the field. He even makes you shout at your TV when your team is down by three TD's from a hit he lays on someone, or an athletic interception he grabs.

I think I'd go ballistic if he chose to stick around for his senior year.

That is the absolute truth!!! I really enjoyed some of the games last year just because he was playing in them. That's saying something.

It's a shame that he has to be here when the team play is poor. We are seeing one of the best ever to wear the orange and white.

Looks like Kiffin made a direct hit with the audience he probably had most in mind...

I really hope we can win the SEC before he goes. He plays like a champion every single down he's on the field. Easily my favorite player ever.

The thing I like about Berry is that he lets his actions do his talking. I hope he has a monster year next year.
