This article needs to be read by everyone who truly is a Vol fan. Unlike 5th ranked Michigan in 2007, the team found a way to win.

To be honest I was not nervous at all.

Great teams find ways to pull out games like that. We did it. I have zero concern moving forward.

If anything my faith in team 120 has gone up. We might end up getting the bounces that went against us last year. And that's what every championship team needs.

Amen that article right there is why i havent hit the panic button and I wont... This team needs this fanbase to be with them not against them. Also I dont care what anybody says about Dobbs deep bomb it was just as beautiful as Tee to Price in the 98 NC game

All I can say is Amen! I was guilty of saying the wrong things about the players, this game was on the coaching, it wasn't team the underestimated App State, it was the coaching staff........they will fix that today. App State's coach.........awesome job!

Go Vols!

Dude just quit. It comes across so fake. If UT lost by 50 you'd be spouting some other kind of crap.

Stop what?

Unlike ya'll I don't think the team that spanked #13 Northwestern in the Outback Bowl 45-6 forgot to play football in the off-season.

We're as talented a team as we thought we were before kickoff. This was just a bad game played by our players. And App State is better than people think. At the end of the day its about wins and losses. And we're 1-0.

My biggest problem last night falls on the coaches. This whole idea of not showing too much is just dumb in my mind. Open up the whole can of whoop and destroy opponents from start to finish. This is what most great teams do. They dominate and intimidate their opponents from beginning of the season to the end. They have a psychological edge because of how they destroy teams every game. Bring the swagger every game.

Hopefully, this was a case of holding back too much, and Appy State is a pretty good ball team. I saw things I liked last night but all and all, it never should have taken overtime to win this game.

Come on "No Stones Jones" attack from beginning to end in all games. The U style from the 80's-early 90's without the taunting.

If you were not even a little nervous as that game went into the fourth quarter last night you are either not a Vol fan or you are a liar.

No. Because we would've lost.

Its about wins and losses and we're 1-0. That's all that matters.

Uneducated fans like yourself can jump off a ledge because the game didn't go as most expected. I know enough about football to know games like this happen. They happen every year to every team.

App State is better than their name. We're better than that performance. Its as simple as that.

Since they won.....nobody appears to be giving up. If they lost then giving up would be well deserved....directed to the staff mainly.

But part of being a fan is praising when playing like a title contender or criticizing when playing like a title pretender.....more like sissy ball...starts up top. Can't handle it in this big boy ball/league go to the powder puff leagues!

True fan police gonna fan police. Every year we are told how we are allowed to feel about the product on the field.

Every year.

I have faith.

I'm very spiritual.

I also had a premonition a few nights ago in a dream that we would be tied with App State in the 4th quarter. You don't have to believe me now since its after the fact but in my dream even though the game was tied, we had momentum cause we just scored.

As the game played out the way it did, I thought back to my dream and felt confident we would pull this out.

I do agree with this. You don't return everyone from a season ago and conclusively think that you got somehow worse because of one underwhelming game. It's just not logical.

Just like that, the elusive super-nega Vol comes out from under its rock. Similar to the days following the North Texas game last season, they are only around for a short period of time. Once things start trending in a positive direction, they slither back under said rock, waiting for the perfect opportunity to come out into the world and spew their negativity once again.
