Just caught a show with a good friend of mine and was blown away. Chris Thile is an amazing talent on the mandolin, and this is not your grandma's bluegrass group. They have been described as the "Radiohead of Bluegrass," all 5 guys are studs on their instruments, and they covered the likes of Beatles and Bach. If you get the chance (even if you aren't a big fan of bluegrass), check them out. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Yeah, they are great. There is so much great music out there right now in the bluegrass, newgrass genre.

+1. nickel creek was pure insanity, but then when he made 'how to grow a woman from the ground', the level rose yet again.

Brought this one back up from all the Chris Thile love I remembered in this thread. While I like the Punch Brothers stuff, this CD is even better to me.

My brother loves them. He saw them in Charlotte(?) not long ago.

He's going to see Amos Lee and Chris Thile and Michael Daves this weekend. If I didn't have my girlfriend's graduation this weekend, I'd be right there with him.
