Interesting article.... Don't really see the harm in hiring an agency to help search for a coach. Wonder if this will affect WWW in anyway?

Wow, when are people going to stop taking jabs at our university? There were no other examples they could have used besides us? Maybe a player who actually got drafted? Or a coach that won a National Title? I'm sure they could have made one or both of these connections and instead they choose Bruce Pearl, Wayne Chism and the University of Tennessee.

Oh well, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, I guess...

I am not in the loop as how these guys have effected Tennessee, but living in Kansas City, the University of Kansas has been going through a lot of problems due to these guys and the major ticket scandal. Some of the stories that people "in the know" told the radio stations sounded straight up like Good Fellas. Meetings in hotels with weapons exchangining money all over final four tickets. Bill Self seems like a good guy, I sure hope he nor any coach is connected to these guys.

Ok, I hate to sound like an idiot, but what exactly is going on with these people? Are they causing NCAA violations? Are they lobbyists for coaching positions? Sorry, I haven't heard of these people and I don't understand haha.

I guess the NCAA doesn't want to see a school hire a division II coach who turned in another coach for cheating and then said division II coach had the brass to go out and get a 4 star kid from TENNESSEE to play for the university of TENNESSEE. So what if the kid never made all American or even got drafted. Hell, everyone knows that any borderline good player from TENNESSEE should go to one of those paragons of virtue like UNC, KY, or Memphis. Let's not forget the nefarious activity of taking a chance on a kid who had some poor study skills and with help and hard work on his part, said kid graduates on time. Absofreakinlutely we have to nip this kind of stuff in the bud. Never mind there was no evidence of any wrong doing.

They are big AAU boosters (KC Pump and Run) and were heavily involved in that ticket deal that was going on at Kansas wheree the tix were stolen by employees and then resold through brokers! They are west coast based but have their hands in a lot of things nationwide. Lots of speculation they were funneling players to schools. All speculation at this point, but where there's smoke..........

And also, they too think that Kiffin is a D-bag!

No. Because he is not a blundering idiot who meets in hotel rooms to exchange dirty cash for ticket scandals. He's like Mario, and you gotta go through all the levels to get to him.

Exactly. I'm pretty sure WWWes is smart enough to never be in a position where the bumbling idiots at the IRS have a shot at him.

The 9 year old video game playing kid trapped in me wants to say "wouldn't that rather make him Bowser or the Princess then?" :)

Touche. I forgot to insert "the game" before Mario. Sometimes I miss the rectangular control with the old A and B buttons.

I think Pearl has his flaws, but I love him as our coach and I'm glad Hammy brought him in with the help of the Pumps.

As for the article, eh, it was simply a mention of a hot coach that people would know and an example of why the Pumps are no longer in the search business.
