While it would feel good to land another safety and would be a bonus that he played under Knowles last season, he's also an older guy who hasn't done much to this point in his career. Perfectly reasonable to think that Knowles and Poindexter viewed him as more of a depth player and he needed to find somewhere that he would be given a starting spot.
