PS5 question

I’m not a gamer at all… I think I’m going to get a PS5 for my sons for Christmas. Is the digital version the best way to go or should I get one that actually takes the discs?

Are they at the age where they will enjoy going to GameStop and trading in their games for something new, or maybe they just like collecting games? If so, get the disc version.

I think Sony is adding and optional external drive IIRC. Tbh, the digital version is all you need. Subscribing to the premium service gets you hundreds of free games, new and old. It's very worth it. I haven't used a disc in mine ever. All games you buy will be available forever to download and the game library is kinda like a stream service where games come and go. Always needing internet for the initial game install is the only downside imo

If you don’t have any ps4 disc games then you’re completely fine getting the digital one. However keep in mind physical games tend to go on sale at a quicker rate than digital ones. So it’s more likely you’ll save more than the 100 in the long run getting the disc version. I recommend the disc version just to have more options is future game buying.

I did the disc version and couldn’t imagine it without. I tend to buy the new sports games and then trade them in at the end of the season to usually get $15 back each. Eventually it pays for itself if you are diligent and willing to trade the games in.

Also, I have a ton of Blu-Ray discs so it makes them seem not as worthless. Haha
