I wish I had the money to buy 5 or 6 of them and then sell them on ebay when everyone is trying to find them for CHRISTmas. :)

I've got one at EB and hope to have a couple more after camping out later this week.

Launch is Friday.

i'll probably get a ps3 in feb or march, i was lookin at their new games, its so realistic. unbelieveable. plus i can play Socom: Combined Assault from ps2 on my ps3, i'm down for gettin one, it'll prolly be the last game system i'll ever get

I will be picking mine up at EB Games on Friday. I still have not decided if I am going to keep it or sell it for a profit.

Easily. If you wait until closer to CHRISTmas the demand will go up even more because some kids parents thought they would be able to wait until a week til CHRISTmas and buy one.

Don't go counting chickens just yet. Gamespot announced today they will not be able to meet pre-order totals at launch. Calls will start going out tomorrow. Cross your fingers...because ebay/reseller prices are climbing by the day and you don't want to miss easy money.

I love the rampant capitalism! Almost makes me want to go get in line at the Best Buy after work but ruiing my entire weekend by catching a cold in the rainy, chilly conditions we have here right now would not be worth it. I wonder what the bleeding hearts from the political forum would make of this? Probably want to tax anyone with enough extra $$$ to buy one and use the money to give 'em to poor folks for free. I am certain that some of you have really researched this but if you are speculating I'd get rid of those decks asap. I think Sony learned their lesson two years ago with the slim-line PS-2 and not meeting demand. A lot of people who had to wait either bought something else or nothing at all. I have a sneaking suspicion that they will do a better job of covering the demand this time around. Just a hunch.

It's beyond their control here with the blu ray diode problems they have. 360 launched with 380,000 and it was considered to be a bad shortage. Current estimates after all the cuts earlier this week have less than 250,000 units shipping, with possibly another 100,000 before years end. It's simply a production issue with BluRay across the board as evident by their standalone players being delayed again and again and other manufacturers problems securing the parts.

Okay. Based on the completed auctions I am seeing on ebay today you can get a PS3 60GB for $800-$1,200. A few are still getting up around $2k every so often but I have a feeling that many of those are on 7-day auctions where people saw them going to $3k and more last week and bid around 2 grand thinking it would be a bargain a the time. Still, a nice double your money proposition and more than federal minimum wage earners take home in a week. I know a few people on the board were speculating in these. Anyone make out like a bandit?

I'm not big into games much at all, but the next time one of these comes out, I'll wait 3 days for it if I have to. I was watching Ebay the morning after they were release and was very surprised at what I was seeing. Most of them the day they were release were going for somewhere between 3k and 4k. I did see some exceptional ones though like these.
