PS3 VS. 360 my take.....

I pulled the plug on this one today, actually. Ended up being about $360 shipped. I usually spend weeks researching stuff like this, but everything I was reading came down 2 or 3 receivers in the range I was looking (sub $500). I really liked the 3 HDMI inputs.

If I think about it, I'll post some impressions after I get it next week. Hoping to have it all hooked up and setup before friends and family start coming around for xmas.

I won't be attempting 7.1 until sometime next year. My 5.1 will have to do for awhile longer.

From what i have read 7.1 is not worth the money right now. Most DVD and BD are in 5.1 and the two other channels are just faked. Also for most rooms 5.1 will suffice better than 7.1.

I just bought my PS3 about 3 weeks ago and i had to buy a new big screen after that so i don't have a huge selection of games yet, but, from what i have seen sofar the 360 may have a better selection of games but the PS3 has a better long term potential for graphics and gameplay...and the sixaxis is cool as hell. The PS3 also has a added feature that i didn't really consider but love now that i have it. It's connection to WMP and streaming my media from my laptop to my PS3 is just great. I get to browse all my photos, music, and videos on my big screen. Plus as mentioned before it makes standard DVD's look just sick on my 57" DLP.
