PS3 user name star/trophy icon

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the star icon with a trophy in the center was by my name and user names on friends list? ( BY USER STATUS ) Also if you look at yours, or a friends profile it has a percentage. Whats that percentage represent? Im not talking about individual game percentages, or trophies......... TIA

I read it was levels and percentage til the next level, but what levels? General gamer levels ? Source was online ps3 manual

Thats all it is. The more awards you unlock from different games your level percentage goes up. Also I think what percentage of a game you complete it goes up.

If it's what I'm thinking of, it's just trophies, nothing else. So many trophies nets you a level up with platinum being worth the most, then gold, etc. It's essentially your "gamer score" on 360.
