Pruitt's record as coach....

6 seasons to expect 10 wins? Pretty damn generous if you ask me.

You’re not wrong but I don’t see Fulmer or a large enough percentage of the fans expecting much more than that.

Maybe we get something special for our patience this time around. Nothing else has worked so why not I guess.

Despite his buffoonery, despite having to play a freshman JG a chunk of the season and despite somehow thinking making Larry Scott the OC was a great idea, Butch Jones was within striking distance of 7 wins his last year.

I think anyone that knows me knows I thought Jones was a bad hire from day one and make no excuses for him

Right now however, JP is pretty much performing at the same level Butch did.

To match CBJs output he needs to win 6 more games this year and then 9 next year.

Again, not defending Butch, he was a bad hire. He needed to be fired. But I think we can all agree that taking over for Dooley was similar, if not slightly worse to what JP walked into.

I'm just not sure that were going to see a difference through year 4 vs what the previous staff did.

and by year 3, "you know who" had a roster in place to have a special season. He just did not have the ability or the correct chart to coach us to said special season.

If JG is our best option at QB, then the staff hasn’t developed nor recruited that position well since they’ve been here.

Where Pruitt is so locked in on the defense, he doesn’t trust himself putting another QB out there, afraid he might do worse.

It does not make any sense to keep JG out there when clearly he was struggling to maintain the ball or at least throw it away. We’re not talking about a freshman QB, we’re talking about a 5th year senior QB still making freshman mistakes.

So many questions right now.
CJP's only real qb recuit is HB and he has only been there 2 months. Believe me that staff is working like crazy to get him up to speed.

I think most fans that have been here and thru the the ride from Coach Majors till now, are "Liking" the way the ship is directed. It's not a overnite(mike leach) haul. It's long term.
Just to keep up with the thread, the scrimmage from sunday, after the uga game, might have an * for importance of our record this year.
Most people who are overreacting on here are younguns or not been following tennessee for more than a decade. They have not experienced the cycle of the past 40 years and don't recognize how it feels to be on the upswing. They probably remember the Vols being good when they were children and have only known the bad times. I would tell them to be patient.
We are on the way back, take it from a geezer.

Responses on here is like playing checkers with my little grand daughter. Jump where ever you like to make your point.
I think there are 2 groups of negavols. The first is the one trick pony "we hate JG" who don't really understand football beyond a trash talk at work level. The other is the younger crowd who have heard about the good old days but never expienced them and they want to be able to see it themselve like their daddys.
