I like your style, photovol.. ! Honestly my expectations for the D are fairly low for 2 reasons:
1. DL depth - while we have some high-quality players atop the depth chart, after that it's iffy at best.. e.g. We have a walk-on (Bain) and a true FR (Harris, who was a low 3* on Rivals) at 2nd string DE.
2. Secondary inexperience - we could have multiple true freshmen on the field at critical junctures on Saturday.. Going against a potent/explosive offense like WVU, that's not a great recipe for success.
The obvious strength of the D is the LB corp, which if healthy is extremely deep, talented and versatile. We have to hope they're able to make a lot of plays and contain Grier. He's sneaky fast, so sure tackling will be a 'must' when the pocket breaks down or on designed keepers. We can't let him beat us with his legs, and our LBs have to contain and take good angles..
As others have said, the key to this game may very well be time of possession.. We have to avoid 3-and-outs to keep the starters from getting too worn down late in the game..
GBO!
