Agreed. He needs to be told that it's a free swing... he's not expected to perform like Peyton Manning and the fan base will be behind him after the game no matter what. Just don't want to get him hurt, physically... knock on wood.

Maurer has been out for 3 games

Maurer QB Hamstring day-to-day (10/17/2020) Maurer has missed the last three games with a hamstring issue, and it has yet to be determined if he will take the field against Alabama on Oct. 24.

You’re right. He was shaken up and removed vs Ga. Then 2 concussions and benched at Kentucky. Weird to have started 4 games and finished none. I guess we don’t have much to lose at this point with him or Bailey. The other two are not viable options in my opinion.

Read my posts instead of arguing like you have in the past. Not trying to toot my own horn but you may find I’ve been right all along. I may be careful about what I say but when I feel strongly about something there’s a reason.

I’ll say one thing. I do appreciate the info 1vol8 has shared and I do feel Maurer has gotten the raw end of the deal obviously. When he did get on the field I could tell a difference in the other players out there with him. The kid bought some swagger to the team and put a little bit of pep in their step which has been lacking big time. Just wish we could see what he really is capable of doing, but don’t want to jeopardize the young man if he is hurt or not ready to go 100%.

It was no secret Maurer during the off season had some issues with depression. He had his medications changed and per several stories was doing well. That was then this is now. He then was quarantined over Covid matters and had some sort of injury early. He's had a tough year and when it comes to BM I'll leave it up to the coaches and staff as to when he can play.

He was pulled 2x for JG....injuries happens. Concussions are not like foot or knees or ankles...he didnt finish for weak injuries...

I honestly just wish he would get another chance. Not just one series....a legitimate chance. If he screws that up so be it. It can’t be any worse than what I have been seeing. Hate to think we have somebody that can move this team down the field and he is sitting on the sidelines. Just the unknown! Heck that goes for all of our QB’s not named JG.

My point is a lot of what I’ve said in the past in coming to light today. Some of you called me “biased” while others called me “a conspiracy theorist”. Instead of arguing in the future, why not just listen?

I’m not saying that what I say should be taken as rule because some of what I say IS pure opinion. However when I feel strongly and WONT back down..... there’s a reason.

It’s got to be Bailey next week. It just has to. Even if he throws a couple of pick-6’s, it would be no different than JG.
