Who would you prefer to take over?
Alabama's DC or Mike Leach?

This is pointless, we weren’t getting Leach’s pirates show. He was there to interview Currie for AD at Washington State.

Pruitt is the much better fit.....great southeastern recruiting ties, outstanding DC, high energy. Leach’s name is intriguing because of his offensive pedigree, but there’s no doubt in my mind that Pruitt would be the better choice. Moot point anyway, Leach not even in the discussion. Come on down Jeremy Pruitt.

Leach would have been a last minute hire by Currie to save his job.

As stupid as Currie was, a Leach Hire could have been a major turning point.

The interest was there but our Administration wasn’t having it.

Fulmer knew he’d by the type of guy to overshadow their power considering his personality.

Leach would have been great here imo.

Blue font? Why would Currie interview Leach in Las Angeles to get a job at Washington State? That may make sense if Currie actually met with the administration at Washington State, but i dont think that happened...

the point is not whether it's actually going to happen now. the point is whether Currie actually was going to get a better hire than Fulmer may be preparing.

It's tough to argue against the proven experience of Leach as a head coach, IMO

I personally do not want another system based offense coach. It should be a decision driven by the offensive coordinator based on personnel and game planning. The head coach should approve, veto, or make suggestions.

GO BIG ORANGE!

On the surface Leach seems better because how effective his offense has been in the Big 12 and PAC. Two leagues not known for tough defenses. His personality would be entertaining during press conferences too.

However I’m not sure he was the best fit for those same reasons. In the SEC you have to run the ball and play hard nosed defense. The HC of SEC teams also have to hob knob and socialize with a wide variety of people and I’m not sure how the pirate would do at that.

Despite the lack of HC experience I think Pruitt is probably the better fit. Fulmer is going to need to go all out and help him get the absolute best assistants for Pruitt to be successful though.

Leach would have been a horrible fit in Knoxville. His personality is a total clash with southerners.

You know Phil. He is the type to hire someone who will not pose a threat to his own job. Now he is hiring bammers. General Neyland must be some kind of unhappy about this.

Cutcliffe was is Alabama guy. That worked out OK when he was with Fulmer. Ignorance and stupidity should not keep him from hiring someone.

General Neyland is too busy coaching football up in the sky and Bear Bryant still hasn't beat him yet...

Leach is almost 60 years old and no major program has ever hired him as a HC. Why didnt Arkansas hire him? Im starting to see a pattern here.

Not sure how how either will do but, Tennessee needs some stability to calm things down and I think Pruitt will be the right choice.
