Pruitt: Vols need to raise expectations, start kicking back

Personally, I think the greatest difference between Coach Pruitt and the past couple of coaches is experience from working with very successful coaches and programs. The previous coaches only had hope, dreams, blind luck, and prayers versus a blueprint for success......also Coach Pruitt is a winner and has the Championship Rings to prove it!

Didn’t Dooley say about the same thing?

He said almost the exact same thing. It was during SEC media days and he said something to the effect of "the league wasn't going to have Tennessee to kick around any more."

Found exact quote:
They said what? Best quotes from past SEC Media Days
It’s been a tough four years in Tennessee. I know, of course, the SEC has enjoyed taking advantage of our tough times. But there’s a nice mood on our team right now that you’re not going to have Tennessee to kick around anymore.

having high expectations is great, as long as you put the work in and meet them

"But you're not going to have Tennessee to kick around anymore." D. Dooley

Tennessee's Dooley: You won't have Vols to kick around anymore

“We’ve been kicked around a little bit. It’s time for us to start doing a little bit of kicking ourselves.” J.Pruitt

Notice how CP says "us" and dooley says "Tennessee", CP's blood is turning orange baby! (I know I'm reaching but it's the offseason so that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it).

I am very impressed that Pruitt survived the 1-4 start, especially losing the opener to GSU. Hard to believe a coach could shut out that kind of noise and those distractions for his players and get things back on track. I am just watching with my mouth shut from this point forward.

There is a HUGE difference in CJP and Derek the doofus....

1. The players obviously RESPECT Coach Pruitt...... DOOFUS...not so much because of all of his childish, slavish rules and prohibitions on everything.....
2. CJP actually KNOWS how to develop players...especially DEFENSIVE players....and COACH defense...and evaluate DCs. DOOFUS didn't actually know that much....especially how to evaluate DCs...
3. CJP WORKS to develop good relationships with HIGH SCHOOL coaches since he earned his way into coaching thru that process......DOOFUS got the benefit of his NAME.....
4. DOOFUS was a moronic azzhole.....and CJP is NOT...

That's just for a start.....
