That article says if he doesn't make it in by the start of class, he won't make it. But that's just not true. People enroll after the start of class all of the time. Yeah, you start behind, but as long as you're in before the first test, you're fine. I think it'll be fine. Feeling better after hearing this.

More technically he needs to be in by the add/drop class date.

Bingo. Obviously, the longer he waits, the more catchup he will have to do, and this is definitely going to effect his play time, but honestly? I'd love to see him come on and play the last four games of the season, and then redshirt. If his academics are a big issue, don't put the kid at jeopardy by throwing him in and putting so much on him.

I'm gonna be really interested to see how the coaches use that new rule with the 4 games.

This is good news.

Realistically speaking, though, he's probably red-shirting after getting such a late start. Still, better that he RS than not join the team. And I guess with the new rules, he might get to see a little action in some of the OOC games and still be able to RS.

Let's be real... JJ's classes will be playing icebreaker games until October.

He will be just fine assuming he makes it within the rules,

A lot of Georgia high schools played games today. Heard some of the coverage on the radio where they interviewed Rush Probst. He mentioned that they missed having JJ Peterson along with some others and that it was OK because “those guys are playing college ball now”. I was hoping something had developed but he was just speaking generally.

If he's as good as many on here think, RS year will not matter. If academics aren't his thing, after 3 years he is going to apply for the draft. If he's not that good, it won't matter.
