Pruitt post game on Vol Network

First time our guys out hit the other team. Played very physical for four quarters. Played with the right temperament.

Important that we were able to run the football and stop the run.

Guys have worked hard. We're improving and gaining confidence. We've played against some of the best teams in the country. We know where we're at and what we need to do to get there.

We played a good first half up 10-0 and we got the ball to start the second half, that's why we starting out running on that last drive. But once we popped the run, it gave us some field position and allowed us to take a shot and get the TD (heavily paraphrased).

Our offensive and defensive staffs both did a good job.

On Ty Chandler: That's the bad thing about coaching, the only thing I can remember is his fumble at the end.

We had two turnovers in the fourth quarter but got three. That was huge. You'd like to see us be able to finish the game. We were moving the ball.

Coach Rocker and Rump did a good job. We had a good pass rush and we did a good job covering guys on the back end.

On Missouri: I'm going to enjoy this win. I don't want to think about Drew Lock tonight, I want to be able to sleep.

Kentucky shut down Lock and Missouri in Missouri. Dooley is the OC. Pruitt will have our guys ready. Playing for a Bowl game now. We have 2 wins against top 25 teams this year. That hasn't been said in a long time. Our only losses are against top 25 teams. And we are improving every week.

They were going to let time run out after JG threw the screen that almost got picked.
That would have completely changed the whole dynamic of the game.
I was cursing under my breath right up until Calloway caught the ball. I thought they'd blown an opportunity to step on their throats.

I know there is no perfection in Coach Pruitt's coaching world, always something to improve, but you know him and the staff were enjoying what they were seeing on the field...I sure was...:D

That hasnā€™t been said since 2016. Itā€™s not been that long since we had two wins against the top 25.

Sweet VINDICATION!
We got our Coach, and after he has had some time to develop, completely turned the program around. Our guys were just having fun last night. Instilling that winning feel, mentality, reward, and payoff from hard work and discipline.

I saw an article from the News Sentinal on my phone that said, "we aren't better than we were a year ago" I think. Last week. What a bunch of stupid crap. We beat two top 25 teams in year one. The refs gave SC the game, and if we played FL this week, I'd say we would come off with a W. Last year didn't even win an SEC game. The team quit and didn't trust the coach.

We are now back, finally. We are going to land another 5 star and maybe 3 of them. We are going to win out. 7-5. I said 8-4 beginning of season with the SC win, that would be it. Our schedule always is easier towards the end, after we are battle tested and improved.
