3-4 base defense, Kongbo isn't big enough. They will probably play multiple fronts and you may see that if they have someone that can replace him on the outside

I can't wait to see how KMac, Phillips, and Kongbo responds to Pruitt. If anyone can tap their full potential it's him.

God you guys have no idea what you are talking about. In the 3-4, there is only one interior position the 0 technique nose tackle. That'll be KMac. Kongbo and Phillips will be the 5-techniques aka 3-4 DEs. Their body types are perfect for those roles. They just need to gain 10-15 lbs.

Our outside linebackers in the 3-4 will be Darrell Taylor and Austin Smith. Once again both guys fit better in those roles than they did in the 4-3.

Playing the 3-4 will also allow us to have Bituli and DKjr on the field at the same time as MLBs. Which is ideal considering they are two of the best players on our team.

All in all, I think we have the personnel to play the 3-4 at a high level.

Long time til September. I also think if certain guys don't show more effort they may be replaced by freshmen.

Don't know much about Pruitt, but he, like Smart are Saban disciples. The first thing Smart said he changed was the physicality of practices.

If Pruitt holds to the same strategy I think a handful of these guys won't cut the mustard

Gotta be on the roster to sit the bench. Remains to be seen, but I wouldn't be surprised to see several players on this team move on. Will Kongbo be one? Probably not, but having said that, it would not shock me either.

Kongbo should be ecstatic about this hire. He needs technique and coaching more than anyone. Look for Pruitt to fix him in a lot of ways. But sometimes a bust is just a bust.

Actually sounds like a good front 7. Then put Gaulden and Byrd at CB, Warrior and Kelly at Safety.


But at the same time i want Tuttle and KMac in the middle

He does just fine at NT. His job isnt to a Warren Sapp type. Its to be a Wilfork/Jamal Williams type. Occupy blockers, take on double teams, disrupt the A gap. He's done fine at that. Always room for improvement though.

I truly expect to see a great improvement in our defense by year 2. Our teams have been soft for years, those days are over.

I'm ecstatic to see another attempt at a transfer to a Bama style 3-4 defense in Knoxville.
