Pruitt just shut down big bob

That was pretty funny I thought. I like his style. Always looking for improvement. He admitted it was good to have no turnovers and few penalties but also said he wants zero. Recognize good work but not be content when improvement is possible.

Jeremy basically had to be told by CPF that he would do the interviews, pre-game and post game and do the promo videos etc if wanted the money in his contract for all that. And he is doing them....It’s no secret he loathes doing it and try’s to get through it as best he can. That’s no criticism to Jeremy ...that’s just his personality and it was all worked out on good terms. IMG sets the recording schedules etc and that was a small point of contention. But all is well now so no big deal. Actually a lot of coaches feel this way too.

Yeah watching him on the CJP show Sunday mornings is almost painful

Yeah, even watching CJP with sideline reporters at the half is uncomfortable. It’s like, I’m not gonna answer your question, I’m only gonna answer something vaguely similar to your question, and even then I’m gonna do it in as few words as possible, and then I’m gonna stare at you silently until you come up with something else or just say thanks and bye.

Should have been booted with Jones.

No he shouldn’t.

Kessling does a great job, and has given more to this program than anyone on this board. The hate he gets here is foolish and unwarranted. He has his flaws, but he stays very unbiased and professional when calling games and has always acted with class.

I'd rather have a homer as Tennessee play by play announcer than Bob or Tim Priest who go out of their way to build up the other team even when they obviously don't need it.

He seems to like doing Vol calls when he gets to interact with the fans.

I've heard him call games very well and also not very well. After listening to some other SEC school announcers, I thought Kessling might be the best.

Exactly! John Ward was an impossible act to follow, I don't get all the hate for Kesling either.

I think he said at least once that all the head coaches he worked for had the policy that they would do all the post game talking. So, while that worked out for him then, it didn't prepare him for this obnoxious duty. He'd rather do the fun of football, without that detail. I understand. He'll develop that as the team develops. I think he has actually improved since he arrived. Go Vols!

Not a fan of Bob, but listening to South Carolina's broadcasters yesterday enroute to Myrtle Beach, Kesllng & Priest are far better. John Ward spoiled us.

I met Bob once at Ye Ole Steakhouse. We all were outside waiting in line. Seemed very nice and gave everyone the time that wanted to talk. We got our tables and he was a couple of tables away and received a cell phone call. He answered the phone by saying, “Hello, this is Bob Kesling.” I thought who answers their personal phone like that. Must be from the years of radio lol. Otherwise friendly guy.

People that are business professionals answer their phones like that. It’s pretty common.
