Good. Maybe we can avoid losing in-state elite talent to GA and Clemson. Really need a foothold in Memphis, with Ole Miss being down.
If by a handful of players you mean dozens, you'd be right. Mays, Wray, Davis, Teague, Harris, Higgins, Stevens, Phillips, Rodgers just in the last 2 years. In '16, we signed 2 of the top 10 in state.Really??? Lost a handful of players over the past 20 years... relax. Besides there is no law that in-state players have to play at Tennessee there free to go wherever they want to

Why are you changing your argument? It's a fact that we've lost tons of talent in-state.So we have to keep all in-state players but yet when we get a player from Georgia or Florida thats awesome whats the difference

With the talent upgrade in Tennessee, dominating in-state is extremely important to the success of this program. There's no reason to not be dominant here.
That's the problem. If the bulk of the roster is Tennessee signees and we have lost out on dozens of elite talented prospects in-state, is it any wonder we went 0-8 in conference last year? It's not a coincidence.

That's seriously doing the work to properly work a crowd.
Step 2 should be to send each of them a hand written and signed note thanking them for attending.
Step 3 should be to learn their birthday and make certain they get a hand signed birthday card.
Don't forget the Christmas card to the coach and their family.
Little things can count in a big way.
Keep working coach.

The bulk of the roster is from the state of Tennessee.. We are doing just fine
No, we arent doing fine. The top instate talent is going out of state due to our ineptness over the last decade.

Getting my expectations up again I really like Pruitt's style. The fact he doesn't tote a microphone around or play rap music makes me like him even more.
and when Jones did use a mic and music, that was the reason (5 years ago) he was hip and 'in tune' with today's athletes and would be a winner.
none of this crap matters. this kind of stuff gets way too much credit when we win, and way too much blame when we lose.
either they can coach and recruit, or they can't.
not be a wet blanket....but all this ansiluray stuff....it's not "the" reason someone is, or is not, successful.
that pruitt is apparently the polar opposite of CBJ in personality and approach, just means they're different.
it doesn't in and of itself guarantee different results.
(FTR, i like the direction he's taking things too....i just am not going to look at the 'no music/no mic' etc..and call that the reason things are going to be great now)
I know when Jones called timeout for an extra point on defense that he was an idiot
