These days you have to make a decision if he's the guy or not prior to the first contract extension, we can't afford another coach where we give him a big extension thinking he's 1 year away then fire him because he wasn't. I don't even remember buyouts being an issue in Major's era.

We will know by year three, whether he should keep his job most likely, but I'd be surprised if he didn't get at least a year beyond that if he's failing.

Butch had the record improving through year three, but was making glaring coaching errors costing UT wins in year three.

You can look back at every really successful coach over the last 30 years and you can see that the program was turning around or was turned completely around by year three.

I say Pruitt gets one more year......unless Tennessee wins 7 or more next year.

I know 5 is the mark......but I don’t see 5 unless something drastic happens....in a good way.

4 sub par seasons in a row.....you don’t deserve a 5th.....and I don’t think you get one.

before you start clamoring on about last years 8-5.......you call it what you want....I see it as a huge under achievement.

He will be here 2 more seasons after this one no matter what. When we do replace him it will be with another unproven 5th choice.

My university doesn’t care about winning
