Pruitt Era of Tennessee Football

Just a FYI here my friends...Everyone knows that CJP is a great DC and keep asking if he knows anything about the O, LOL!

In order to become a great DC you absolutely MUST know all about the different types of O that's going to be thrown at you.

You can't make a D game plan if you don't seriously study the teams O that's going to be thrown against you.

Fact is that CJP knows football inside and out and he started learning it all as a kid from his HC father.

We also know that he's been a excellent recruiter and his coaching staff is recruiting pretty well so far even though we just had the worst season in Tennessee history.

I like the coaching staff that he's put together, solid teachers that explain every little thing to our players and that are demanding they be consistent in everything they do which shows good leadership and discipline.

We have some talent but seriously lack good talent and depth but 2 or 3 years of good recruiting will fix that too.

Most important for this season is to make a bowl game and get those extra 15 days of serious practice for our kids to keep learning and getting better.

I'll hate only 6 WINS this season but I can accept it and understand it with our schedule and totally starting all over on both sides of the ball with new schemes.

I always love my Vols and I hope to WIN every game but this season I have to say that, realistically, anything over 6 WINS is showing good improvement for a 1st year HC.

Step 1....GO VOLS, Beat WV!!!!!!!!!

VFL...GBO!!!

Whether Pruitt is a world-beater that some make him out to be or a skilled assistant coach who could ultimately going to find himself in over his head, Tennessee football is currently better off than we were under the previous regime from field fundamentals (hey, look...an actual coach, not a snake oil salesman with a whistle) to overall program trajectory (at least now we're not nose-down on fire heading into a dumpster factory). At least the plane is leveled out for now, so to speak.
I'm sure there will be some hiccups as coach Pruitt acclimates himself to being a head coach, he will probably make some game management mistakes along the way but will learn from them. The thing that gives me confidence is that our players are competing and improving every day.

After following the Vols for almost 5 decades and living the Up's and down's of college football, I now have a renewed interest in the Vols.

Tennessee now has a real football coach and an Athletic director that know football and the commitment that it takes to win in the ever competitive SEC.
I'm more excited for Tennessee football than I have been in several years due to Jeremy Pruitt and Philip Fulmer's leadership.
While we may have to have some patience for Pruitt to rebuild our once proud football program, I'm going to enjoy witnessing the progress of bringing my beloved Vols back to the Pinnacle of college football.

It's my favorite time of the year and my pride runneth over for the Tennessee Volunteers!
We will get there Vol fans, I can just feel and smell it:)
Go Volunteers, Pride of Southland!
You get a like for use of the word runneth. Of course I expect compensation biggrin2.gif

If this has been posted, sorry, but I thought this was great. Damn, Pruitt gets after these guys.

"Are you guys afraid to hit people?"
"I might let you do angle tackle with my 3 year old. I don't know, he might hurt you."

He's gonna toughen these boys up!
