Ok, I'm sorry, I see the resume but not all Assistants (in any job field) make a good HC. What makes everyone so sure this is the guy will?

I'm also a little concerned that we had to resort to interviewing Assistants only, the last few days. It seems everyone in the nations hiring proven HC's and we're over here interviewing Assistants. Just seems like Schiano all over again (minus the Penn State stuff)...

Edited: Also, it looks like he bounces around a lot. If he such a great asset then why are these other Universities ever trying to retain him? Seems like they're ok letting him go.

And about the CFP: You guys can't be serious about letting him coach. We're already getting a late start, we don't need any other distractions. He needs to be focus on one thing and one thing only, recruiting and building a staff.

oh, we didn't have to. i'm sure there were plenty of coaches at places like Cincinnati and Louisiana Tech, or that were unemployed, that would have jumped at the job.

Not Schiano, not Doeren, not Steele. #1 defense in the nation. DC in three national championships. Top recruiter. Need I go on?

It's still a gamble. He's never been a HC... There may be a reason for that. Some people just aren't meant to lead.

Dude has been successful everywhere he is gone.

You don't go from Grad Assistant straight to Head Coach...
He's cut his teeth.
If he gets a good staff, TN with its resources can get back to competing soon.

Anyone left on the bus is a fan, and it is ok to question. FTR This bus's new driver has made stops at multiple NC's, knows how to fit a lot of five stars in the seats, and still makes time for groupies.

It will take a couple of years just to get the talent back at UT, maybe more, but Pruitt's a 3 year project at the least:)

Meanwhile, Texas A&M & UCLA hired proven winners in a shorter period of time than we did with our search.

What’s their excuse?
