I hear ya man. Born in 89 so I barely remember the good ole days lol.
Went to the game Saturday. I had season tickets for 12 years back in the 1990s thru about 2006. Got to see a lot of wins. We didn't hope to win then, we knew we would. We were respected, and feared. We played big time college football, and we won a ton. Our entire weekends from Friday night thru Sunday morning revolved around our football team. We traveled with the team to many Georgia dome games. We were proud we loved what we had and we loved winning. This past Sat night game in Knoxville was my first game back in over 12 years. I was shocked, and embarrassed at what we have become, and what I saw on the field. No words can describe the difference.

September 12, 2009. It was a warm sunny day as I recall. We lost at home to a pedestrian UCLA team. That's the day people started telling me to be patient and trust the coach. He knows what he's doing. It's a process. We have to be the most virtuous fan base in all the land.
There are plenty on here that blame the fanbase for not being patient enough. They say that’s the reason we can’t get a proven head coach. I know it sounds crazy but I’ve been reading that a lot lately, I however agree with you... our fanbase has been as patient and as supportive as you could possibly ask for.

Should change our mascot to Saints.

No great coach will come here untill we are good again. No team will be good without great players. CJP is a great DC with experience around great programs but he will have growing pains not being a HC before. He has to sell recruits on a bright future. Not an easy sell. Yesterday= nightmare. GBO

What is this good you speak of? Does it equate to a "W" against a quality SEC opponent?

Seriously, I was on here last night venting. I was just as disappointed as anyone, but, I bet the team was even more disappointed. They didn't run out on the field wanting to lose, no player does. Things just snowballed out of control, then they got tight, the coaches got tight, and that affected their play.

Also, how the hell did that late hit on JG not get called? The replay clearly showed the UF guy "aiming" for JG's knee after the ball was long gone. I hope CJP sends that piece of film to the league.
The good I speak of has long since passed us by. It was a time the we could win a freaking SEC game. It was a time that wins were guaranteed against Kentucky, Vandy, South Carolina. and all the pancake non conference games. It was also guaranteed that we would be atleast competitive. That’s what I was referring to. I’m sure the team was disappointed as well they should be. There isn’t anyone that wears orange or who has ever worn the orange that isn’t disappointed right now. But they shouldn’t give up its time to go to work and get better little by little. Atleast play hard and with heart. But I will say the turnovers just dug a hole we couldn’t get out of. Take the first two away that we lost to start the game and it’s a different ball game completely.

I do agree with you on the JG hit. That is dirty playing right there. There’s no place for cheap shots like that in any sport.

I've already saw the players he previously coached in action and the defensive rankings at the schools where he coordinated. There were some defensive errors and one was a TD pass and piss-poor tackling on a 19 yd. TD run to start 3rd qtr. that had to have a major impact. Reason is UF wasn't much better than us and we had come back 2 yrs ago from 21 and a few players were on that 2016 team. UT is a broken team now and "snap and clear" is a bunch of words. It's highly likely that they have little confidence. UF did try to hurt JG intentionally and he's wearing a target behind a bunch of no good worthless OLinemen. Heck hold hands and zone block and keep a strong back in and line up 4 recievers stacked on one side on fly routes and put it up. Jump ball. As effective as a punt anyway if you have a slinger. What's the difference cause receivers still don't know how to create separation anyway. Utilize what you got to the best of their ability until we get some dedicated talent in here. 6 T/Oers against a pathetic UF team takes the cake. I'd have to skip school on monday for sure but humility used to be the best teacher now it's quitting or transferring to avoid the embarrasment. There's some men on this team it will not impact and mostly the front 7 on D plus A.Taylor is a bright spot. Others are coming on strong and our D seems to be progressing more than our O but too many stern tests are awaiting. Experience may be the best teacher. We should support our team but all the plans to be a screaming mad-house in Neyland sat. night failed to materialize due to turn overs. I called it before it happened in the" keys to victory thread" last thur. or fri. Said that's one thing UT cannot afford to do above all things. I'm just venting and rambling clearing my system....been a life-long Vol and ever the optimist. GBO!!!

Man you could not.make this crap up. We dump CPF, because we're getting passed by the rest of the SEC. Hammy hires a losing rookie NFL coach, who was going to be fired. We could've had Patterson. The he bolts a 14 mo later, we turn the reigns over to Dooly, rather than appointing an interim and looking for a replacement the next off season. Again skipping on Patterson. Then we rightly dump Dooley only to hire Botch, worried Colorado was going to beat us to him, after being dissed by Strong. Then when it can't get any crazier, fed up fans, rightfully so, revolt against Schiano hire. Albeit making us a national punchline, again. Then we end up having to fire the AD after he goes rogue and after he all but inks Leach. So after all that we had to roll with either Pruitt or Chad Morris. Wellat least PF looks to have made a smart choice there. All the while your historical rival hits the HC lotto a reals off 7 natty''s and is the undisputed dominant team of the last decade. I gave reconciled myself to fact we won't beat Saban ever. Of and just for kicks, Ga has it rolling, Florida manages to win the East twice when you had a way better team, and then you play the worst half of football ever, when FL has as bad a team. Tnat wont last for long. I expect Florida to be battling GA for the east for next decade. While we'll be lucky to get to 8-4 by 2021. Oh well is what it is. Thank you sir may I have another?
