No negatives tonight. I don't know where this team came from, but I hope they're here to stay a while. Easily the best the offense has played all season against a quality defense and a well-coached opponent. For the first time the Lady Vols looked like a legitimate Final Four team.

Obviously I haven't been Holly's biggest fan, but if she can start building some consistency from this I'm open to changing my mind....

Ya that's what I'm worried about. I hope they can stay somewhat consistent with this level of play

I think this was by far burdicks best game.

Holly gets the blame when they play bad,by me so I'll give her props when they play good. Keep it up. Lady Vols.

This was the best performance on both ends of the court that we have had in at least a couple of years. It was a clinic pure and simple.

I am not a Holly fan, either, as everyone knows--but congrats to her and the team for an outstanding performance tonight. It was more than outstanding--it was a bit mind-blowing, really. Our shooting percentage is usually in the low-to-mid 30s; tonight, we made more than half our shots. Burdick is playing extremely well. Coming off the bench seems to suit Massengale, who is playing the best basketball of her career, finally. Carter is really beginning to show her stuff, and Reynolds was solid--she's a bit inconsistent, but I like it when she takes the ball to the basket. Warlick should keep giving Moore minutes because, unlike Graves, she is happy to get and shoot the basketball--and we need that; we need inside players who will shoot and score and take a little pressure off Izzy.

But I will say this: This team SHOULD be playing well. We have a veteran group. Harrison, Massengale and Burdick are seniors, and Graves is a junior. It is go time for this group of four--their LAST chance to make a mark. Carter and Reynolds have quite a bit of experience, too. If we can't do some damage with six experienced and highly recruited players, we've got a problem. Graves is my biggest concern: She remains too tentative and indecisive when she gets the ball inside. She alway holds the ball too long. Be assertive. Shoot the ball, or pass it: Make a move, and do it decisively--and stop worrying about making a mistake. Burdick has a comfort level with mid-range jumpers. We need more inside scoring; we need somebody who can command attention inside and so take a little defensive heat off of Harrison. That somebody should be Graves. Warlick should order her to shoot more; even if she misses 9 of 10 shots, she needs to get comfortable with the idea of having and shooting the ball--in the way that Moore is, who plays far fewer minutes. Just do it.

I'm not a big fan of HW either. But if she can keep this team focused like they seem to be tonight, then like the OP said above me, I'm open to change my mind.

Exactly. She should be able to develop into a great coach. You don't have someone who came to Tennessee on a track scholarship, switch to basketball, and become an all American, who doesn't have the ability to become a great coach. She should be able to do this. She just needed some nudging and demanding by who? Us.

I know were not always going to shoot 52 percent when we play. If we continue with the same patience on offense and movement of the ball we'll win most of the games we have left. The way we were not taking unnecessary risks with our passes was great to see. It resulted in only 8 turnovers for the game. Very delighted to see us play with patience on offense. Plenty of time to get the ball inside for a good shot no need to ever force anything.

I liked how they handled double teams. Bashaara had several plays where she was double teamed around the free throw line and had the sense to pass to a cutting player under the basket for an easy 2 points. She successfully executed that play against Vandy as well.

Movement without the ball continues to get better. I like how players aren't just standing around waiting for something to happen anymore.

For me Holly's most impressive mark she left on the game was when she peeled the stripes right off the refs and left her teeth marks in their DNA after the no-call of the obvious Isabelle Harrison assault?

I don't believe in this notion that Warlick will develop into a good coach. How long as she been coaching basketball--25 years? Longer? You either have the qualities or you don't. She's been a head coach for three years. No more excuses for crappy play. We've got a team of veteran, highly-recruited players.

No, we most certainly will not shoot 52 percent regularly. We may not do that again this year--but the Vols MUST shoot 42 percent as a rule instead of the 32 percent territory in which they typically can be found. That 42 percent mark is about where they need to be.

As usual you try to find the negative in what was a very well played and coached game. Get a hobby, your complaining is annoying!

Why not? Big difference between an assistant coach and a head coach. No reason to believe she can't develop into a great coach. I just don't want to giver her forever to do it. But, as long as she appears to be progressing most of the time that is OK with me. And, even great coaches teams play crappy every once in a while.

Holly may develop into a great coach because all things are possible. I will give her the benefit of the doubt, however, not all great players become great head coaches. The sports path is loaded with great athletics who failed in the coaching profession, especially as head coaches. I know I have been very negative at times, but I would love for her to develop into one of the best in the game.

Some think it takes 10,000 hours (5 years full time) to be an expert or "phenom" at anything. Three years isn't really that long to be doing something. Assisting coaching for 27 years does lay down a good foundation, but being an assistant isn't being a head coach.
