I take anything the national media says with a huge grain of salt, but this is an interesting proposal. Too many non-starters among his ideas, as he has the "best interests of CFB" in mind, while the powers that be are only interested in one thing - maximizing revenue. The early start of the season and not playing on Thanksgiving weekend will never happen, and the SEC and Big 10 will have four auto bids regardless of any opposition.

What do you guys think?

8 team, 12 team, 16 team playoffs are a joke for College Football. Tell me when the no 8 or lower ranked team in the country deserved a chance at the National Championship. Name a year when even the No. 5 team deserved or would win the National Championship. The Group of 5 will (likely) NEVER win the National Championship. The 4 team playoff was working just fine. 12 teams, 16 teams is for one thing, MONEY. NIL and Portal will increase the gap between the Power 4 and the rest of the country.

In this article, he talks about playing 1st 2 rounds on campus to help the fans cost. What does a ticket, concessions cost for these games. If these games didn't exist, fans wouldn't have to pay at all. What are the travel cost vs. the ticket/concession cost?

The 4th place team in the Big10 will also (likely) NEVER win a National Championship.

The billionaires are taking over College Football. This past year shows how the CFP committee is so biased against the SEC.

What exactly are the "best interests of college football?" It's a term that lots of people throw around (not directed at you, I just mean in general) and I've never heard it defined.

I have a feeling it is one of those things that if you asked 10 different people, you'd get 10 different answers.

Preach, brother.

You're addressing someone who wishes we could go back to the BCS. Play the season and let the computer pick the most worthy two teams to play for the natty.

No doubt. That's the term that the writer used, probably as a way to get two G5 teams in, which is a complete joke.

Meaningless phrase that is meant to somehow sound profound.

When would the no 5 team win the NC?

Last year. Weren't the suckeyes ranked 7th?

Trust me, I understand your point-but the expanded playoffs have only been here a year.

Like it or not, you have to keep growing the game and the simplest way to do that is getting your team into the playoffs. We were all riled up for our playoff game until the first five minutes were over ha ha.

To clarify, I meant prior to the 12 team playoff, when has the No. 5 team deserving to be considered for the nc. This past years rankings were based on a biased CFP committee. Weren't the rankings based off the seeding

OHio State won it as the 8 seed just last year.

I kind of agree but like the playoffs too. At least in the BCS strength of schedule mattered more. You seemed to see more good out of conference matchups. Tennessee, for example, you'd get a Notre Dame, or Miami. Now you get one middling or bad ACC team (Pitt, Virginia, NC State, Syracuse) and a bunch of non-interesting beatdown games.
