I take anything the national media says with a huge grain of salt, but this is an interesting proposal. OHio State won it as the 8 seed just last year.

I kind of agree but like the playoffs too. At least in the BCS strength of schedule mattered more. You seemed to see more good out of conference matchups. Tennessee, for example, you'd get a Notre Dame, or Miami. Now you get one middling or bad ACC team (Pitt, Virginia, NC State, Syracuse) and a bunch of non-interesting beatdown games.
