Im arguing with my friend who is an LSU fan, the SEC sent a apology to UT about the missed fumble call on Jrussell. Does anyone have a link to anything talking about it?

are you sure this happened? I don't think I heard that, and that seems like big news.

I don't know when (last 2-3 weeks?), but I saw a blurb in an article where CPF said he had gotten an apology from the SEC officiating office on that erroneous call. Can't remember whether it was an informal (phone call) or formal (letter) apology. Try searching the Tennessean archives as I think it was in there.

SEC officials will occasionally acknowledge when they make an incorrect call. I think after the 2002 Alabama game they made such a statement.

You talking about the old Brodie Croyle knee down shovel pass to the RB that went on a 30 yard scamper on a 3rd down. Yeah that sucked. That might not be what happened but my memory is fuzzy.

There was that play. That's the big one. There was also a forward pass that a UT receiver dropped a Bama defender picked it up and ran with it. The refs called it a lateral and fumble, with a Bama recovery.

i remember when the QB pitched it with a knee on the ground to the RB whose knee was on the ground and it went for a big gain

That was like 3rd and 12 too... The part that hurt the worst was S. Williams' knee being down... I can almost understand missing Croyle's knee, but not Williams.

That really sealed the game.

It was a phone call. Fulmer mentioned it in his post game comments after the Vandy game. The league reprimanded him for criticizing officials after that game (he was also unhappy with the officiating in Nashville.)

Everyone forgets that the running back's kneee was also on the ground.
