Proof Kamara will come back for SR Year

I say he's gone after this season but hope springs eternal. Would love to see him carrying the load in 2017 for us. He would definitely have one of the best O Lines in CFB to run behind.

We are lucky to have him this year. I wouldn't count on him staying. Maybe Butch can talk him into it.

My uninformed belief is that the only reason he looked at leaving was because of the 2017 draft competition.

My also uninformed belief is that Hurd is too good to keep of the field and Kamara won't get enough carries to make Scouts confident that he is a feature back... He is a 4-6 this year.... Late 1-2 if he stays his sr season

I think Kamara is going to have a 850 yard 7 yard per carry season.

Oh and Hurd is going much higher. First season with a real oline...

1. Fournette
2. Chubb
3. Cook
4. Hurd
5. McCaffrey

Would kill to see the Falcons pick up Hurd in round 2. After taking Barnett in round 1

I'd almost bet my season tickets he's gone after this season.

Inb4 D4H comes in and offers his "expert" opinion. I am undecided on AK leaving. He could if the season goes as expected. Butt Hen again, who knows? I really hope he stays though.

"Proof" a bit strong of a word. Are you involved with drug company safety studies for a living?

At the next level, other than 1 or 2 each draft, RBs don't get paid anything like they used to. The game today is such that very few premier backs bring near the value they once did. Teams get greater value from two 3rd & 4th rounders than a single 1st round pick.

It's also a short-lived position. They look at it now like a pitch count: you can only take so many hits in a career. Playing in the SEC takes a heavier toll than most conferences.

So if a junior RB understands the passing game, runs good routes out of the backfield, can move into a receiver's position effectively, and understands the complexities of pass blocking... he really needs to go get paid while he can.

It's an individual decision, but Alvin's extra year in college would have to be worth (to him) at least a season of being paid to play. Once the university has prepared a young man to go make a living, we need to thank him and encourage him to go begin his career. That's another aspect of being a VFL.

He's leaving no matter what.

RBs gain nothing for sticking around. They have a biological clock and need to get to that 2nd contract asap.

We want him to have a good enough season this year that he is a 1-3 round draft pick. plus 2 backs taken in first 3 or 4 rounds would be great recruiting tool.

Selfishly would like both Hurd and Kamara back...but if they are top 4 rounds they should go.

I think the fact that Kamara was named a team captain was an indication that he isn't coming back for another year.

I can't see Chubb going ahead of any of these guys after that injury. No way.

I wonder if McCaffrey will be another Toby Gerhart in the NFL

I would honestly expect Hurd to return before Kamara

I'm quite honestly surprised to see that no one thinks BOTH will stay for a senior season. As of right now, Hurd is projected at rounds 2-4. He's not the prototype-NFL RB like Fournette and not as polished. He also needs to work on his stiff-arm, as he is one of the most superior athletes when he takes the field - he needs to take advantage of his strength and ability to punish LB's and DB's.

Don't get me wrong here - I love Hurd's running style, but where things stand RIGHT NOW, he should stay for his senior season and compete for a Heisman and higher position in the draft. This O-line is going to be much much better this year and we'll have the chance to see what Hurd can do with another off-season of beastly training (we've all seen his sprint workouts). I'm projecting 1500yds for Hurd this year - which will raise his stock, but will be a tough decision for him whether or not to stay. I think his love of Tennessee will bring him back for a CRUSHING season and he'll wind up going first round, if he continues to improve.

But who knows?? The season hasn't even begun and we don't know what sort of team we have yet. Pre-season rankings are just hype and nothing's won until the game is over.

GO VOLS!!!!!
