If you would have asked me on Sunday if I though Fulmer would be gone by seasons end, I would have said "No question." Now though, I start to doubt it.

I think there is some number of games left that if we win, Fulmer is going to be around next year.

Now, its been my opinion that Fulmer has shown his ineptitude enough before this season to warrent firing. If, by some miracle, he manages to right the ship, it proves to me nothing more than that the only time the man gets motivated is when his job is on the line.

So now Im stuck in the position of having to hope this team loses more games. Its gotta get worse before it gets better.

Furthermore I worry about the players. We have a team loaded with talent. They just dont look like it because they are not getting proper coaching. If we shake things up now we have the possibility having some great players in a few years. If it takes a couple more years for the staff to go, we are going to be stuck with lackluster incoming classes as well as underdeveloped talent.

To compleatly change directions now, something that is really pissing me off is the way Fulmer is blaming the players for all this. Ive read numerous articles, listened to interviews et cetera. And not once has Fulmer suggested that maybe he didnt have the team prepared. Any coach from pee-wee to the NFL would be ashamed to act in such a manner.

Even if we win out, dont forget how you felt on saturday, and remember that as long as Fulmer is around, we are in more more of the same.

This has already been discussed. Fulmer can't right this ship this year. The best scenario for us is if he resigns in time to save recruiting for this year.

Maybe I worded that part wrong.

Its not that I want to lose, its that I think it would be the best thing for the team.

on point one, disagree. i'll continue to root for the Vols. but at this point, i don't think it will matter, there are at least 2-3 more losses in store for us this year.

and on point 2, "loaded" is probably a strong word. we have talent yes, but it's not on the same level as a FL, LSU or USC type program right now. and you need not look any further than the two deep at just about any position to see the difference.

I cannot root for Tennessee to lose games. I just can't do it.

However, if and when this team does lose again this year, I'll console myself by saying that it's ultimately for the best. Because I don't think Fulmer will be forced out unless UT loses three more games this season.

I don't care if we're saddled with Fulmer for the next 15 years, I'm never pulling for the Vols to lose.

losing is never in the best interest. I think I see where you're trying to go but very few will agree. I will not cheer a loss just to get rid of a coach.

just a thot: whether we win or lose the rest of our game, the BCS is out. I believe is UT does not got o a BCS game, CPF if either gone or given one more year to match all the assistant's tow year extensions they recieved after 2006 season's end. They all can go after that, except for Cut, who has three years remaining I do believe. Feel free to correct me if I am inaccurate in the contract extensions.

I hope also we win out then let our AD change the direction of our football program if and whin he feels it should be done, that's his job not ours. Most of the fire Fulmer pressure is hurting our team right now. We do not know what goes on at the AD level so we should just enjoy the season, there ia a lot of football to go.

Me either. I may have said I would on a Monday, and hell I may have even tried in '05, but when Saturday rolls around I can't help rooting for Tennessee each and every time. I understand his point and he may be right, but it isn't right to root against the players. For all the aweful things I say about them during some games I know they work hard and try their best. They are just misguided right now and it is a shame to see an entire off season of work get flushed down the toilet the way it did Saturday. I know that none of us feel nearly as bad as they do, and we don't have to prepare to play Ark. St. I just hope we can win this weekend otherwise the wheels may come off the wagon, and that could mean big trouble for a while. I don't want Fulmer to leave the program in a place that we will have a hard time getting out of, but unfortunately falling that far may be what it takes to get him out.
