Preston Bailey rumor

It is true. This is what Rob Lewis had to say about it:

I spoke to Preston earlier today and he is not going to make an formal announcement at this time. He would have liked to have waited, but the cat is going to slip out of the bag.

Preston did not want to give any quotes at this point, and asked me very politely to hold off on writing a big story or anything at this time, and in accordance with our longstanding policy, we'll respect that.

However, I would think it's beyond safe to say that Tennessee is in line for good news next week.

I've been telling ya'll that Bailey was a UT lock. Good to see that we've got Bailey and Anderson(may walk-on) in the bag. Hurst is starting to UT lean. We made a ton of ground with Jones. Wallace is a UT lean. Spurlock is a UT lean. Gonna be a good OL class.

great news on bailey! i expected him to come to UT, but it's always nice to have that affirmation.


on page: i think he's going to choose clemson. it'll be hard to pull him out of the state of SC

Page and Freeman to Clemson.

Spurlock is ours if we want him. Jones will be a tossup between us and Bama.

Jones got hurt last night, and if i remember right he also got hurt last year...hope hes not injury prone kinda player cause i really want this kid to wear orange....

HV, I like Spurlock and think he plays with a mean streak, I am little worried about Alabama though.

West tn, where would you say Alex is leaning right now? Is he completely wide open or looking at a specific school or two?

I'm not worried about Bama with Spurlock because they are only gonna take a couple more OL and he's a ways down on their board.

Yeah, I'm thinking that may be a good thing. He was a heavy UT lean at one point so this could mean that we are in better with some of our higher OL priorities than we may think.

I'm not saying he wouldn't go elsewhere because he may, but I wouldn't read much into that. Schools give players tons of shirts, hats, etc on visits. I remember Miami fans thought Antone Smith was a lock because he had Miami slippers. These schools have to give him a written offer and accept his commitment before it matters and I don't know if either of them have him that high on their board. Either way, he said a while back that UT and Bama were his leaders.

so we're getting a guy from Mama's Boy Acadmey? Maybe this will ease the sting of Ingle Martin. :p

dont know which side of the ball he will play on, but last fri nite he blew up some kid on a screen pass. read it perfectly and decleated the poor kid! (bartholomew that is)
