Preston Bailey no longer with team?

Rumors on VQ are saying Bailey has quit as a result of the workouts being too difficult. If true, we're looking at a very thin O-Line next season.

*Sorry if old news. I did a search before I posted.

His work ethic wasn't great at MBA and I had heard that he was struggling last summer since he had never really had to work. Sucks that he he couldn't cut it, but the truth is that he needed to get stronger and leaner to be a successful OL in the SEC. I wouldn't be surprised if he followed the Ingle Martin route and transferred to Furman or another good I-AA school.

Seems that the depth at our big positions is good but at OL and DL, we are quite thin. Hopefully the workouts will get them into shape to compete atleast

We will be fine...we dont need people that don't want to work hard anyway...

I would look to see many new faces getting lots of playing time next year...espcially the defensive line...Walls, Sykes, Hughes should help out a lot...

if he really quit because it got too hard, then he doesnt need to play football anyway

That's disappointing, I can't imagine quiting football because the conditioning was too hard. Thats what it takes to win, the more I hear the more I think we are really going to surprise some people next year.

This is why I fell that S&C coach Mark Smith was a huge get. I'm sure Kiffin saw how out of shape and lazy some of the current players were. He's going to whip these boys into shape.

Along these lines....I was with one of the football players last night and he was saying things that every fan would like to hear. Mainly he agreed that yes the workouts were hard(and that Mark Jackson preferred to go by the name "Black Iron"), but the players knew they needed them and most were ready to get better; He said the majority of the team welcomed the change whether they would admit it or not. He also said that Kiffin was cocky but everyone felt like he was what they needed to win. Glad to get positive messages from members of the team to go along with what most of us feel is a great turn around

Disappointed to hear this about Bailey. I was in his english class last semester and he was a nice guy, but if your not tough enough to get through workouts than you don't need to be playing.
