I'm a pretty timid thread-starter, but I'm starting this one, because I want to see how VN rates our competition next season.
Plus, it's the off-season, and I think we're all bored.

So here's my list:

1. Alabama
As much as I hate to say it... Not much of an argument can be made against them.
2. LSU
Without a QB, they still went 11-2 last year. What happens when they figure that out?
3. Arkansas
Petrino offense, and supposedly Mallett's replacement is pretty good. Don't anticipate a huge step back.
4. South Carolina
They've got a great front 7, the best WR and one of the top RB's. Garcia will still be the starter; I'm expecting another 2010-like season for them.
5. Mississippi State
Way on the rise. I don't mind seeing them doing so well, actually.
6. Georgia
I consider them and us at about the same level. I just give them the edge because they're not hurting for bodies.
7. Tennessee
8. Florida
New coaching staff, Weis will cater to Brantley more than Adazio did last year. They've still got mad talent, but I'm expecting (and hoping) they start out slow.
9. Auburn
Cam Newton was the team last year. Dyer stepped it up late last season, but he can't carry it all. They need a QB.
10. Ole Miss
They had a good recruiting class this year, but they'll still get pummeled in the West next year.
11. Kentucky
Sure, they'll finish 7-5 again, while beating up on SEC bottom-feeders and weak OOC. And they don't have Cobb anymore. And they'll still lose to us.
12. Vandy
No explanation needed.

What do you guys think?

UF seems a little low. I would spot them ahead of the Vols because of depth if nothing else and UGA because even with talent and depth they don't seem to be able to put it together.

I'd say UT could be 4th to 6th. UGA, atleast I think, is on their own downward spiral. South Carolina won't do as well as everyone expects. They just had a fluke year when everyone else was struggling.

I am scared of Florida with a good Offensive Coordinator. They were already stacked with athletes on D. They're my pick --hope I'm wrong-- to win the east.

Ill never understand all the love for ark and miss st. No way do they have the same success for an extended period...they're still ark and miss st...they don't recruit well enough to hang at the top

This, especially MSU. We are not in a grass growing competition. Mullen is great but they are not better talent than UT or GA.

I'm giving them props mainly because of their coaching staffs. Like them or not, Petrino and Mullen are good coaches and the credit they're getting is well-deserved, IMO.
Once Petrino goes Mark Richt on Arky and Mullen is lured away by a bigger paycheck, they'll go back to what they were.
About the talent, MSU and Arky are battling for last in pecking order for recruits in the SEC West.

1. Bama
2. LSU
3. South Carolina
4. Florida - tremendous recruiting classes/depth will cover up most of their coaching deficiencies.
5. Tennessee
6. UGA - I just think that we will be a better coached team than UGA. They def have an edge as far as talent but can it translate to the field?
7. Arkansas - the new qb might be good but he didn't play through the entire meat grinder that is the SEC.
8. MSU
9. Auburn
10. Ole miss
11. Kentucky
12. Vandy

I look for the east to get some balance back. The west pretty much had their way with the east last year.Look for that to change this year.

The Vols have the toughest western schedule this year and will lead the way.Lsu,ala, and ark. We'll take atleast two of em.
