Gotta at least double our number by the end of the season. I think Eric Gray should of at least made the 3rd team on potential alone. Henry T will be a first team come seasons end. Palmer could have a chance at a spot. Darnell Wright as well. Others we will need to see some new faces step up.

The crazy part is that it's not even debatable.

Not when Mond is voted 2nd team and Nix 3rd team.

Not really a knock against him so much as the SEC QB roster as a whole at the moment, vs what we've seen the last few years.

Unless I missed it, only Trask from the Gators made first team offense. They had nobody make 1st team defense. They had nobody make 2nd team offense and then they placed 3 on the 2nd team defense. Florida usually has more talent than this show up, I'm just saying.

Pitts (TE for UF) made 1st team offense

2 trash QBs for 2nd and 3rd team. Mond is absolutely painful to watch sometimes. Nix was a true freshman, but Malzhan almost never develops his QBs it seems...

Weak year for QBs in the SEC this year, it's a big reason why I think we're fine at that spot. I'm hoping Bailey is a different maker at the position but facts are that there just aren't that many really great QBs out there, lots of decent to good ones though. Pretty much the same at every level, NFL might have 30% of their QBs that we'd consider great, maybe 5-10 out of 100 schools in college might have a great one and at the high school level there isn't even 1 great QB in every state. As you know well you can win football games with just consistent quality QB play. We've not had the consistency we need to win championships but we have had quality QB play at times. I just think that this season our defense is going to be great which should result in us getting the ball more and I believe with the addition of Mays and Coach Graham the running game will improve enough to help garner more 1st downs and easier 3rd down situations. We have added more speed which should help stretch the d a little bit and we've got an experienced guy in his 2nd full season with one of the best offensive coordinators in the game. I believe these factors will help JG out, get us more plays and attempts and our overall team improvement will show up at the QB position as well. We're middle of the pack in the passing game, we're 3rd worst in the conference running the football, if we're going to compete for championships then we've got to get significantly better at running the football I feel and this season could be the year it happens.

I think Alontae Taylor is going to have an All-SEC type season, Mays if he plays and I would not be surprised to see Palmer, Crouch or Bennett possibly slip in there. I think Chandler is going to lead us in yards, be terrific out of the backfield catching the football and could slip in as well with 1000+ all purpose yards. Good list though, especially considering that Trey, Cimaglia and I think Henry T may all make All-American.

Doesn't really matter who makes the preseason team, it's the after season team that counts and can be a good barometer for where the talent level of your program is. If we are half as good as we hope are, we will be very successful and there will be a handful more VOLS on that team.
