28 wins in the regular season
Yes we win the SEC Championship
We get to the Elite 8.
Scotty Hopson is the MVP.
All of the seniors, Tyler Smith, Wayne Chism, JP Prince and Bobby Maze all have their best season as Vols. They finish out their careers by leading the way on defense and upsetting teams ranked above them including two K schools with more tradition and history.
you're crazy. I will not predict anything like that till I see some form of defense from this team.
We have beaten a Callipari team with talent before, we have beaten the UF gators, 2 time NC in BBall... they had talent.. i dont think you should coun't us (UT) out of winning the games.
As I stated in the other prediction thread, Tennessee drops 8 games (more or less depending on whether or not the defense improves) and finishes second in the East. Lack of PG play will continue to hound them. The first loss of the season likely comes in the Paradise Jam, my bet is it comes to Purdue. Put Kansas, the KY game at Rupp, and a game in the SEC Touney in the loss column as well. The other four come in much the same way that they did last year, to teams with less talent because of a lack of half-court execution on both sides of the ball.
If the defense improves (and Kentucky experiences serious growing pains) this team can win the east with 5 or 6 losses overall. IMO the absolute best case is a Sweet 16 appearance.
I think if the defense improves significantly, we won't lose 5 or 6 losses in the SEC, which is what I presume you are meaning. If our defense is significantly improved I think we can go 14-2, 13-3 in the SEC. If it is similar to last year, I see 10-6 or 11-5, which is pretty much what you see. That is why it is very difficult to give a prediction on this team because Steve Forbes and Bruce to this point don't have a track record of great half-court defensive improvements from year to year. Hopefully, with the talent we have now, we will see improvement this year.

Not this.
How about this:
- 23 wins.
- 2nd round exit in the NCAA tourney.
- Tyler Smith is MVP of the team.
- Hopson will show great improvement finishing in the paint.
- Chism doesn't attempt nearly as many 3's last year, unless they are from the top of the key.
- Prince shows no improvement, and will make bonehead plays in the final seconds of at least 2 games.
- We finish 2nd in the SEC (regular season)
- We lose in 2nd round of SEC tourney.
- We play Kentucky close at home, and not so close on the road. Both are losses.
Purdue or BC will be a nice litmus test if we get to either of them in the Virgin Islands. If this team hasn't toughened up, they'll get physically manhandled against either of those squads. Other than Kansas, there's not really any more nonconference games that should tell us anything.

We'll know about the D intensity and offensive execution very quickly.
