Predictions: Who does Lane start in the Swamp?

I am a firm believer it wont matter who is under center so. Lets run the Wildcat package with Teague or Nuke and just run every down and pount on third downs to avoid picks.

It wont be. Cromptons the guy right now. Depending on how bad he does in the first half, we might see Stephens in the second half sometime. IMO.

If Crompton plays we can go ahead and spot the gators at least 21 points off stupid turnovers. I'm not saying Stephens is going to lead us to the promise land but at least he is not going to go into the fetal position after making a bad play.

Crompton for Florida then Stephens under center for the rest of the season.

I just wonder if Lane realizes that it's just not going to work with Crapton and decides it's not worth throwing the season down the toilet to keep him in the game. You have everyone else on that team playing their asses off and Crapton pretty much destroying it for everyone.

If Stephens didnt get to play a down against UCLA, what makes you think the coaches would even consider starting him against Florida??

it really doesn't matter at this point. we don't have a QB on the roster that can make a positive impact on this team against a decent defense. we'll just have to suck it up, lick our wounds, hope to get to a bowl game, and find our QB in next year's class.

There is a pretty big difference between yanking a QB out in the middle of a game and deciding to start a different QB the week before a game.

After reflecting a little bit about the absolute pathetic qb play and the fact that it doesn't matter what they call or what they do as a staff, they can't overcome Crapton. That would definitely change my mind on the starter.

yeah gotta be Crompton! He is Mentally fixed by the Wyche Doctor! remember. It would be unfair to start Stephens infront of that hostile environment. With a national tv audience. It is a better situation if after crowd is calmed down from blowing us out he comes in reserve duty and gives a glimpse of hope then start against OHIO

Nah, he won't go all fetal on us. He'll just throw a hissy fit on the sidelines befitting of a five-year-old.

I thought Kiffin had already confirmed that Crompton would be the starter.

I think he just said that he didn't consider yanking him in the middle of the UCLA game. Hopefully, he will make the decision to start Stephens and let him practice with the 1s all week and get the gameplan. I agree with alumvol; it is much easier to make a change with a week to prepare than it is to jerk someone out in the middle of the game.

It is amazing that people do not remember how BAD Stephens is as well... and the South Carolina game where he was literally jumping up and down on the sidelines like a toddler.

No, I meant last night after the game. Maybe not.

We're not going to beat Florida regardless, so I say barring a miracle (i.e. Crompton plays well), this will be Crompton's swan song. He'll get the start, the offense won't do jack, Florida beats us down, and we "start fresh" with Stephens at Ohio.

It doesn't matter who starts, we are going to get beat bad. One of two things will happen on offense:

1. We will run the ball 50+ times to keep the score down hopefully and limit Crompton throwing the ball...
2. Or will we let him throw some and after 3-4 more INT's he will be benched and Stephens will be the starter for the Ohio game.
